I'm ok with it uploading old runs. Just not happy about where it picks from. Mainly due to my vivofit cutting me off by at least half a mile and sometimes a whole mile

I think I figured it out. I'm now syncing my watch to Garmin connect before my vivofit3. That data then gets sent over. I gotta get on the desktop site to see if there's a setting to pull from watch first

That's dope dude. Congrats for sure.

I too did a cool thing today as well. Got a PR in the morning 5k in town. 22:38. My last 5k on June 24th was 24:31. So with all the running I've been doing; intervals, tempo, long runs, recovery, rest, hills, trails, whatever............ I shaved off 2 minutes in 6 weeks. I'm proud of those gains. And it was on a technically harder course with more hills and curves. (hopefully they will post pics of the race soon).

I think I actually got 3rd in my age group as well. The long list of results have me at 3rd, but my print out a bit after the race showed me at 4th. So I don't know what's accurate. I'll have to find out. So I may have a medal to go get. I left before awards since the print out I had showed me at 4th, and my friends wanted to go kayaking and we needed to leave for that. (kayaking trip was a blast btw. Creek was crystal clear but my arms are sore from rowing 7 miles).

We are doing big things here in the Chorus Running forums, boys and girls and @Jason Tate.B-)

I did in fact get 3rd in my age group. So I'm a little irked that I didn't hang around and do the medal and photo op thing. I'll get over it tho.

To make up for that, I'm going to do another 5k on Saturday and just place in that one too. That's the plan. *muscle arm emoji*

Bleh. Officially had to back out of my half marathon I had signed up for that's in a few weeks. After a couple months of PT, my injury still hasn't gotten much better so there's no way I could run it. Luckily since I have a doctor's note, I can defer my registration/payment until 2018.

That's a bummer man. Hope you can recover very soon!

I just found the video of me running across the line in the purple and black. I didn't know they did this. Super cool. Please listen to the audio and the commentary from the announcers. Local radio guys. Cheesy and southern, but they can be a hoot. "he's running like somebody told 'em school was out!" haha.

Super new to running, currently doing the Couch to 5K program. It's been fun so far and I've enjoyed it a lot, especially since I desperately needed to get active again.

I searched the thread and followed a bunch of y'all on strava. Feel free to follow me - Quin Stack | Runner on Strava

I used CT5K last year with no previous running experience outside of running a mile in school and it was fantastic! Used it again this year because I had gone all winter without running but was able to skip ahead a lot, that was a great feeling. Good luck!

Awesome deal! Followed back. It totally helps on days where you don't feel like running, but then you see someone putting in some miles on strava, and you say eff it and go out anyway. However now, since I'm into it more, I have to restrain myself from running on rest days. The complete opposite. Today is one of those days. Fallout 4, naps, and grilling out has kept me company instead.

I haven't run a mile without stopping since 6th grade. Still haven't yet with C25K because of the running/walking segments, but I'm excited to soon enough finally, definitively run a mile without stopping! Glad to hear it's been a good experience for you!

Watching people like Casey Neistat put up crazy (to me) numbers on Strava makes me want to build up stamina and endurance to be able to go forever. I've definitely burned myself so far by not respecting rest days, but one day I'll build up to be able to go way more often! Those chill days are so nice though. Just gotta veg out and game sometimes.

I love rest days. Didn't want to take one yesterday but once I put some electrolytes I knew running in the heat and humidity was gonna be awful.

Last weekend did a parkrun (free, weekly timed 5k we have over in the UK) in EXACTLY the same time as my PB, which has been standing for 2 years. So annoying but at least I am close. Did the same parkrun yesterday and finished 40 seconds behind it, damn. My best buddy wasn't there with me, usually he helps to motivate me to go faster because I have to try (and fail) to keep up. Pressing ahead with some intervals and got a 10k on Wednesday evening so feeling in good shape for that. I have also not eaten crisps for the past couple weeks and mainly stuck to healthy deserts so I wonder if that will have any effect. Also signed up for a couples half marathons in September once my exams are done, should be fun.

Some fun stuff this weekend for me. Did a small town 5k Saturday morning with 100 participants. Finished 8th overall, and set a PR by 11 seconds at 22:27. Came in 1st in age group; 2nd and 3rd just 6-7 secs slower. However, this one was chip timed but it glitched out, so they just went off gun time. Glad I started close to the front.....

That evening I did another 5k with 400 participants. A slightly easier course to boot. I finished a bit slower at 23:19. I registered day of for this one. When I checked my time I was 4th in age group. When they called awards they called me for 3rd place, but it was in the wrong 35-39 group. After the awards I talked with the "chip time lady" and we sorted it out. They had to manually imput the 120+ day of registerers, and they put my birth date as 1980 instead of 1986. I don't think my 6 looked that much like a 0. Well, with it corrected I actually came in 1st in my 30-34 group. Actually was like 2 minutes faster than 2nd place(not a super fast age group) So I missed out on the cool podium photo op and official medal hand out. That really frustrated me and still does a little(haha?).

No matter, these small town 5ks are cool for me since less "elites" from far away don't show up and give better chance at placing. :-p

Think I work some hills this week.

Yeah it's frustrating not hitting those PR's. You look back and think, "man I just could have given a little more in X segment". I'm looking for a 10k and a half to do later in the year. Over here it's going to be so nice when the temp drops and isn't so humid. Doing these races at 75-85 degress and 70%+ humidity is for the birds. Means I'm training good for fall weather!

The pic reminded me of the scenery of Watch Dogs 2 oddly.

New 10k PB last night, 50.11, beaten my old one by 40 seconds. Delighted with that! Sub 50 is on the cards soon!
