hard for me to imagine another site where MCS would take this one, but i have to imagine they run away with it here. they aren't getting my vote though. Tim isn't The Mats' masterpiece but it's pretty close

Tim is so good, just revisited it last week and it might be my fave replacements beginning to end

MCS for me. I love pieces of Tim, but I've never fallen in love with it as an album. Whereas Commit This To Memory is one of the great emo masterpieces of the 2000s.

Two albums with absolute god-tier closing tracks, though.

Damn this is a matchup right here. Went with Tim because it’s my fav Mats album and there’s a few of the middle-album tracks on CTTM that haven’t stuck with me

I listen to something from Tim just about every day, lotta Hold My Life, lotta Kiss Me On The Bus.

I do really like Commit This To Memory though.

Funny that this matchup wound up two classics produced by elder figures from their respective worlds

Tim rules, and if this was Let It Be, I’d have had to think harder, but Commit This to Memory is a top 10 album of all time for me so that’s the pick.

Tim for me. MCS is cool, but I've never connected with them like others have.

Tim is incredible and I never connected to MCS, just another pop punk band in a sea of them. Tim easily for me.

  17. Commit this to Memory. I enjoy The Replacements but have never clicked with any of their specific records as much as I have with those first couple MCS records. Good matchup.

Went with Motion City. This is my favorite album of theirs and I have way too many memories with it. I've never gotten a Replacements record to stick with me.

SIDENOTE: but we probably should have started these "Years in music" discussions around 1991 as the majority of people here had their taste formed in the 90's/00's so these polls are always going to skew to those eras.

We’ve had a few older albums take out big AP.net/Chorus favorites, though.. I think having the older records in the mix is a good thing, especially if it means more people are listening to stuff they haven’t been exposed to before.

The pre 1991 threads were a lot of fun for we who are into that stuff

Ya discovering a ton of new stuff from the 60s-80s has definitely been the most fun part of this for me

Yeah exploring the older years was the entire appeal for me. Some of us stuck with it for over a year, so sorry if you don’t like there being albums you don’t know but…you could always listen
