This whole time I thought I Am the Movie was what was in the bracket. This makes even less sense lol. That one at least has Cambridge

 

this one is definitely better than IATM, though it isn’t their best

 

IATM is their best but this is still Avery niche and difficult matchup lol. It's Rumours though.

 

Thinking IATM is better than the two that follow it is mind-blowing to me.

 

I don’t really like the band, that’s the one that has the songs I enjoy. Nothing too crazy

 

Only heard the first three records, but I think each one is better than the last. Got a real soft spot for When You’re Around though

 

Like @OhTheWater, the songs are just as good if not better. Love CTTM, but IATM has a little grit to it and just does it for me. Plus, only one of those albums has "Indoor Living" on it.

 

I don't like Rumors, think it's reputation and mythology is far too overblown, and yet I'm still voting for it over CTTM. Like seriously, how did this even get this far?

 

The more time I spend being shoved into corners and forced to work with people who make me rip my hair out, the less I understand how a listenable body of work was created when everything was turned up to 11 with cocaine

 

That’s its only real asset is the edge. There are a couple quite good songs (“My Favorite Accident” is a monster) but they don’t have a fraction of the sophistication their writing would develop and a couple just are not hummable.

 

Commit This to Memory, easy pick for me.

Absolutely. No clue how some people get through these situations. Someone walks in the room after having the music for a week and says "hey, so, what are the chords?" makes steam blow out of my ears

CTTM was the easy choice for me. Rumors is obviously the more important album but CTTM is one of my all-time favorites.

As others have said, it’s a miracle that Rumors is such a coherent, well-made album considering the absolute shit show this band was at the time.

 

Missed this but glad Rumours won.
