This film has officially pulled me in with its tractor beam. My hype is and will be irresponsibly high for the next 48 hours. I'm at the point to where if you're not talking to me about Star Wars, I couldn't care less what you have to say.

    I'm only kind of joking

you're in a cult, call your dad

As hyped as I am, I'm really wishing I knew anything about the Rebels/Clone Wars TV show plotlines to feel in the know, haha.

Does this movie have spoilers? I mean we know what happens before AND after.

In terms of the overal story, I would say no.

But how things progress through those points and character interactions/moments? Sure.

I watched Stuckman's review and he does "spoil" a couple things about the movie. But it was about like "this element/character was used more/less than I thought or this was in X amount of scenes". Which wasn't a big reveal to me, it just changes some expectations I had.

Guess it depends how you define spoilers.

  7. I can't imagine there being huge spoilers or plot twists, but I like to go into movies like this as fresh as possible, so I've avoided reviews. Only have to wait 26ish more hours!

Yeah, there's no big twists or anything along the lines of TFA.

/s? I've heard the complete opposite. That there are so many twists that you can't guess what's going to go down.

I don't think that's true. There was nothing in it I would consider shocking.

Not trying to be a snob, but how much do you follow outside of the core movies (books / tv shows)?

I'm a big fan of Collider and Kristian Harloff and their spoiler-free review said there were plot points they didn't see coming and they're super Star Wars nerds so I'm a bit unsure on it. I only have to way 26.5 more hours to see anyways.

No, that's fine. I don't really follow it beyond the films and "Clone Wars" the TV series.

I just watched their review and I didn't hear anything about unexpected plot points...

I was definitely only paying half attention as I was working at the time. Maybe they were more talking about the way they did things surprised them rather than the plot itself.

Yep, he's used at one point to extract thoughts out of Bodhi's mind. Then he's never used or spoken of again.

It's...weird. I instantly forgot about it until one review I was reading brought it up.

Alright Ladies and Gents, here's my survival gear for the morrow:

    iPod Classic
    Marvel's Darth Vader comics
Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult by Dayal Patterson
The rulebook for Star Wars Destiny, which I just decided to buy into
My friend's 3DS with Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong Country 2, Zelda: Oracle of Ages & Season, that 3DS Kirby game...

Also food and a camping chair and other bullshit. Last year they had us wait in lines in the parking garage under the theater. It was cold, but this year it's been much colder. I called today to ask what their plan was for this year and they literally hadn't decided and said they weren't going to until tonight. Here's to hoping they let us wait inside this year.

Why am I even going early? Whatever. I took work off so I'll enjoy it as best I can.

I took off work Friday as I'm seeing this pretty late tomorrow. Very happy we've got a nice theater here with reserved seating. It's so stress free.

Does camping out in weather like this really make the experience that much better? I'm pretty excited to see the movie too...but waiting a day or two and not taking a sick day for when I'm actually gonna need one doesn't seem to threaten my chances of enjoying it.

  24. Another reason why theatres that do reserved seating are the best

This movie was good, not great, but one of the better blockbusters of the year, IMO. There were things that made me kind of cringe but there were also some pretty dope moments that made me feel like I was 5 again so, ya win some ya lose some ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
