Friday at 7pm for me. I guess I'll have to ignore this thread for about 24 hours.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I had to get 10:15 tickets for Thursday because I'll be in class until 9:00. So excited!

Got tickets for 7pm Thurs in what Cinemark calls their XD theater. So excited! Fandango was a bust, but luckily I had the Cinemark website up and ready to go. Stressful experience because I had to buy 8 tix and my theater pretty much sold out within the first 15min other than the front section, but luckily we got good seats.

that's not how the force works Prestigious

Thursday night 7:00 at Cinetopia Living Room Theater.

Edit: I had very little trouble with the Fandango app. A little slow, but that might have been due to the fact that I was on a slower internet connection. Purchased in less than 4 minutes and got great seats.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

I decided to get tickets for my wife and I and another couple for us all to go. Thing is, they have a 2 year old so they could only go on a Friday night after 7. I secured four tickets for a 7:50 Friday night showing, and a ticket for myself for the 7pm Thursday showing. I'm a man child and told my wife I obviously wasn't going to wait until Friday night to see it so I'm gonna stand in a line by myself all day like I did last year, then see it again the next day.

I'm going to risk not buying tickets in advance, since I can't go Thursday night and feel like I wont have a problem Friday

I got tickets for IMAX 3D at 10:45 PM opening night and 7pm at the local theater across the street from my house (historical but smaller screen). I just couldn't wait till 10:45 PM to see it for the first time so my girlfriend and I are going twice opening day.

This comes out the same day Jackie and La La Land do in my city so I guess I'm waiting on it.

My roommate just told me he was super excited for this because "Luke Skywalker will have more to do then just stand on a hill"... had to break it to him that this wasn't episode 8

I think a good number of people who aren't die hard fans still haven't grasped this fact yet. There's going to be quiet a few confused people opening weekend.

How can people be that unaware? Have they literally not seen any trailers for this?

For everyone who loves star wars it's obvious, but for casual viewers it's might not be. The Death Star might be a dead give away for us, but they've basically used it in three movies now. I could see how someone might just think they're using it again. Not everyone pays that close attention to trailers either, they might just see "oh, another Star Wars movie" and move on. It's not going to be that many people, but there's definitely a handful who don't realize the timeline.

Also just finished Catalyst. Great book, I'm somehow even more excited for this movie after having read it (well, listened/audiobooked it).

I'm about halfway through, and Galen and Krennic are both super intriguing characters that I can't wait to see more of on the big screen.

I'm a good bit into Catalyst and am pretty bored. I put it down to start reading some other stuff. I'll finish it before the movie though.

I'm just not a big fan of Luceno, never have been. How last SE book I though was alright, but I found the first two thirds of that one was killing a lot of time until a solid final third.

Cool that didn't work. Ugh. It's a regal offer for a $100 card that allows one viewing of Rogue One per day as long as it's in theaters.

    That is actually very tempting.

I doubt I'll ever actually read any of the new canon books. From all indications they're pretty poorly written and I can just get everything I need to know from spoiler articles.

I just don't see myself seeing this one as many times as I did TFA. Then I would do it. But now that the "I GET TO SEE A STAR WARS IN A THEATER" glee has lessened due to yearly releases, I just don't think I'll see it more than a couple times. This would have been cool for TFA. Would have done that for sure.

Read Claudia Gray's books if nothing else. The best of the new canon by a great margin.
