I checked it this morning and its still on their FB page in one of their most recent posts. I'd link it but no FB access at work....

Tim talked a lot in-between some songs and everyone was right, the new album is politically/current event charged and he also said that's why they brought back playing State of the Union and Blood Red, White and Blue.

I like that they played those, Black Masks, and full band version of Everchanging. I can't remember the last time they played a full band version of Everchanging. Saw them in 2003, which was probably the last time I saw them do that.

After hearing the studio version of Wolves and watching the livestream, Tim has lost his scream/growl in his voice. He struggles a lot and just sounds winded. He still sings with passion though. Also, since when did he start having to scream/sing higher parts with his tongue sticking out? ("we give it alllllllllll ALLLLLL Whooaaa")

Edit: I still love this band and Tim. Just miss the grit they/he had a lot. I would love an all acoustic solo album from Tim too.

I'll have a look later, thanks dude!

Wait the studio version of Wolves is out there?!

Yup. They released it last night during the livestream for those who pre-ordered the album through their website. It's better than The Violence.

It was so strange to see him winded and sounding tired during Give It All lol. It seemed like he couldn't scream anymore, but then he nailed State of the Union so perfectly. Maybe he can only scream now lol.

I have the iTunes acoustic seasons of swing life away, ready to call and prayer of the refugee and loved those acoustic tracks. Also I remember he put out a video of him doing I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore solo acoustic and it sounded great as well. I'd love an acoustic album.

I'm only going off of what I heard from the live stream, but yeah out of the three new songs The Violence sounds like my least fav so far.

Professionally filmed video of another new song "Welcome to the Breakdown"

EDIT: "The Violence" is also in this video

  13. Damn finally they're back. This is the Rise Agaisnt I wanted since 2008, the one they only hinted at on bsides. And yep Tim still screams but he can't do this half scream thing anymore... pretty much like Hetfield like someone else said in this thread. Both have perfectly clean voices even during the harder songs.

  14. I mean not exactly perfect, they still have that edge but it's nothing like their earlier days

  15. Also, is it me or since Tim adopted his new singing style, you can't really understand what he's saying ? There's something weird with the way he pronunces words, and it's been that way since 2009/2010 I think

Definitely can't tell what he's saying haha. It's weird. I'm just glad he hasn't lost the way he delivers his vocals. Still aggressive, passionate, and sounds like he is pissed haha.

  17. it's soooooooo weird, same case for Cedric from At The Drive In on their older stuff when he yells instead of screaming. i'm sure i have many other examples, it shows that it's something that seems to happen once you get older in a relatively aggressive band ?

Shouldn't be surprising that Tim won't (can't) scream on songs like he used to. He's 38 years old and has been screaming his lungs out since 1999. That has to take a toll on his vocal chords - a big reason why I'm not really surprised that they took three years between albums for each of the last two cycles.

I'm happy with the three new songs that they've released/played so far. Unlike what seems to be the consensus on here, I still really enjoy Endgame and TBM for what they are. Obviously, neither of those albums hold up against SSOTCC or TSTW, but they're both still very listenable imo. There's a lot of bands whose "bad" albums I won't ever go back to.

  19. what's the problem with Siren Song's production for all of you ? i always thought it sounded a bit thin, especially the drums... idk it that's the right word, but it seems way too compressed. however it easily has the heaviest guitar tones in their entire discography which puts it in the top tier

Seems like Tim can still scream. He just can't yell like he used to. There's a difference.

Yeah the production on Siren Song has never bothered me at all. The production on Revolutions Per Minute wasn't the best but the remaster they did a few years ago did it good I thought.

What's everyone thinking of the new song Wolves? I think it's one of the best songs they've done in years. The ending absolutely rips.

I like Wolves a lot. I would like it a lot more if they did something different with the long, slow, bridge though. They tend to do that a lot these days. That is one reason I am so excited to hear a studio version of Welcome to the Breakdown. Thats a straight ripper right there.

Yeah I can't wait to hear Welcome to the Breakdown too, I listened to the live show they played the other day and it sounded like one hell of a song. This album is shaping up to be a massive step above the past two.

What's everyone think to House On Fire?

This is shaping up to be the best album they've released in years.
