It's not necessarily Riot's fault, but the city poisoned the well by putting the three festivals in there and now it's time to move. I think it's a real bad look applying to stay when the other two festivals read the room and moved on.

They reportedly looked at other sites.. three was overkill, but if Riot has no other choice than to cancel.. one festival a year is not necessarily the end of the world

I’m not sure if he’s ever been speculated, but Nick Cave is out. Chicago show at the end of September

I saw sugar Ray yesterday at the Austin rodeo. Mcgrath had some solid energy
Bring him onto this thing and let me have a proper mosh pit for mean machine

I am an unabashed Sugar Ray super-fan from L&B to the latest stuff. But no way this happens. Haha.

“Mean Machine” goes so hard, though. Assuming the set list was fairly predictable?

of course. AT one point they busted out a 90s montage of OMC How Bizarre and Len Steal my sunshine. GUARANTEED 90% of the people there thought those were Sugar Ray originals haha

Should we have a washed up 90s/2000s stage with like...Eve 6, Len, Sugar Ray, Lit, Blind Melon, 4 Non Blondes, Deep Blue Something, Semisonic, Wheatus, Peter, Bjorn, and John, Nine Days, The Calling, Jet, etc.? And for the Village People slot we can have Lou Bega and a pit during Mambo No. 5

(Be honest...how many of you would actually watch a stage like that? Haha)

I would avoid that stage on principle despite really loving four of those artists.

Get the silverchair reunion ive been hoping for and then we'll be cookin. would watch eve 6, len, and wheatus, not much interest in the rest... maybe lit

I finally watched Meet me in the Bathroom last night. and Riot has gotten only 3 of the featured acts (yeah yeah yeahs, tv on the radio, & interpol). great doc if you have the chance, seeing the footage of YYY's very first show was really cool. we still need The strokes, moldy peaches/kimya dawson, LCD soundsystem, & the rapture (unless they played pre-2015 and i just dont remember).

  15. I'd go wild for Nine Days. I think they're by far the best band of that bunch, and I'm surprised they haven't tried to capitalize more on their song placement in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

I just read an article the other day about their frontman and how he’s a high school teacher now. He seems like a cool, humble dude. And he also seemed stoked on the song’s renewed success, so maybe they might have to capitalize on it. Haha

A Silverchair reunion would be incredible…highly doubt that ever happens tho. A full album play through of Neon Ballroom or Diorama would be great.

    Things have changed.

Sugar Ray could absolutely play Riot Fest.

Not sure if it affects anything, but the Bowie Tribute shows have been rescheduled to October/ November due to an "unexpected medical procedure" for Peter Murphy. If this pushes Bauhaus off the lineup again, I'd just accept that it's never meant to be at this point lol.

How do we feel about the chances of Streetlight Manifesto doing an album play of Everything Goes Numb?
