They hadn't come up yet for this year but... It would make sense! And I recall one year where the admat leaked early (by like, 6 hours) and Good Charlotte was on that but weren't on it when it was announced...

So they've come close to playing before, if nothing else!

FWIW, I would consider myself a "casual listener." Like, not even a fan really... But somebody who enjoys listening every now and again. And it's mostly just the "hits" when I do.

I'll spare the boring details as to how it wound up happening but... In 2018, I found myself in Orlando with nothing to do that night. And it happened to be the same night they were playing. So I got a ticket and went.

And they put on a really fun live show! I was pretty impressed. Solid set list too! Lots from Y&TH. My one "edit" might have been to cut everything but "The River" from GMR and play another song or two from S/T. But it was a really fun night.

Would definitely go out of my way to see them at Riot.

I think it would really depend on who all else was playing. Looking at last year, I would slot them in the Sparta slot on the main stage - or in the Wonder Years slot on Radicals - on Friday.

But for Saturday, I could see them sliding in to close out Roots after Yungblud. Or between Yellowcard and the Menzingers on Rise. If Yellowcard weren't playing, I think they would definitely close out that stage over TSSF.

So yeah, I think it definitely depends on the scenario. "Legacy" status would bump them over certain younger acts who are arguably just as for more popular than they are currently.

Maybe, but with bands like The Cure, New Order, Morrissey and (the 2 attempts for) Bauhaus playing Riot before, make me think Riot might try to book her too.

I'm sure they would. Depends on who brings the bigger bag and the slot she'd want.

Came here to talk about Head Automatica! But Geeee Whizz, The Cure, Head Automatica, and some of these others you guys have been mentioning got me spinning over here. I can’t get my hopes up like this!

Have the Melvins ever played Riot? Honestly, out of all bands, it genuinely surprises me that they aren’t one of Riot’s “plays every couple of years” go-to bands

Nope. Never played. I wonder if it's a money thing. I'd imagine Wimmer would throw them a bit more money and they'd get a later stage time.

Thinking about their placement at Riot, they would probably wind up on the main stage at like, 2pm, or on Rebel just before GWAR.

NOFX is only doing 40 shows next year. Will riot be one of them?

Hope so since I know they definitely won't come to Cleveland lol

Would be cool if they brought back Camp Anarchy though too...

Seeing them do those albums at those shows would be awesome

I almost hope not. I want to see them play a full set if this really is the last hurrah for the gang. Of course, I'll still see them at RF but still. That being said, I could see them closing out a side stage one day and maybe doing an after show another.

I really do miss Camp Anarchy but think the whole “Skate Punk” angle was a bit unsustainable. I think it would be cool if someone used that venue for something *like* Camp Anarchy but mixed with Warped Tour

I’d love to see The Faint do a set at riot next year.

Doubt Camp Anarchy will ever be happening again. The only reason that happened was because, at the time, Fat Mike couldn't use the name "Punk in Drublic." But the promoter who owned that one went under so... I'm not sure why they would do anything other than that.

I could see Fat Mike doing Punk in Drublic at that same venue, though! That was a really perfect spot and a great weekend. Although I feel like if they're going to do another big festival type thing for their last show? It'll probably be in San Francisco.

(Then again, I'm not entirely convinced they won't ever play shows again. This feels more like a "final tour" as in, we'll pop up and play festivals every now and again.)

Speaking of Punk in Drublic, Im surprised they havent done a 'Punk in Drublic stage' at Riot the same way the have done it a couple times at Slam Dunk in the UK

Riot likes to stick with their 'R' branding. Haha. But I mean, they kinda did that in 2021. Unofficially but... NOFX with the Circle Jerks, the Lawrence Arms, Anti-Flag, and Radkey would be a great PiD line-up! Haha.

I’ve had this same thought before. I feel like NOFX could easily collab with some festival here to do it

Sharing this here because I feel like you all will appreciate how truly cornball and shitty this is but... This is a real thing.

It's literally a "punk rock" supergroup of artists who forced out of their respective bands for their anti-COVID vax stances. LOL

It's truly amazing the cognitive dissonance at play in the description of their songs.
