Someone made a mock on the Facebook group page

The only comment I have and this is coming from someone who is a fan, there are more female acts in punk/alternative than Beach Bunny and Sincere Engineer like come on haha

Also Knocked Loose is billed way too low and Saturday headliners might be too weak even though OP said they modeled Saturday after this year.

Also I just saw Dolly on that mock, if they ever actually do book her it’s headliner or bust, and I think she is a bigger deal than Green Day, even at a punk festival. Green Day May be more important to punk fans, but purely in terms of music/influence/legacy whatever, Dolly Parton is above Green Day.

A lot of those are reasonable. But I don’t think of The Offspring as a main headliner. I could see them co-headlining with FNM though.

What's frustrating is that roughly 80% of that line-up is actually feasible. This person clearly "gets" the Riot Fest vibe. But boy is there so much weirdness going on with artist placements, random bands that are soft-cancelled, other bands that are technically still bands but haven't played shows in a while or very likely won't be playing shows for a long time for one reason or another...

Still. It's definitely a creative take on things!

I say this every year but I remain perplexed by people who want Tears For Fears to play this thing.

I’d like to see some sort of combination of The Killers, Depeche Mode, and Green Day as headliners.

I’m just not sure they could do all 3 but I feel like that covers some good bases for sure.

Not sure if anybody else listens to the Hard Times' Hard World News podcast but this week they briefly covered Drain's Riot Fest set. Basically, it's three of the guys behind Hard Times looking at news headlines and coming up with some of their own headlines/stories based on them. Thought the Drain ones were really good and relevant to this thread:

Riot Fest firmly reiterates "no riots" policy

Drain frontman causes chaos when he encourages restaurant patrons to rush the counter and order with him

Following controversial Drain set, Riot Fest announces controversial "no musicians under 45" policy

    LOL :crylaugh:

Green Day announced a tour at their surprise Vegas show tonight for next year. It’s them smashing pumpkins rancid and Linda Linda’s. Might have 1 or 2 of the headliners for next year on the tour unless they do wrigley

Looks like they played all of Dookie last night too. So I’m going to hold out hope that we get that at Riot Fest next year!
