I hate to break it, but Misfits v. Yellowcard v. SDRE is definitely going to happen.

Maybe Glenn and Jerry requested to be unopposed and got it. I’m going to hope so.

Edit: A lot of times there is only one band that fully overlaps with the headliner, so the question would be whether it is SDRE or Yellowcard.

    I'm thinking SDRE

Solid gets all-around. The only one I'm not interested in is Fear. The Get Up Kids and RFTC are both really awesome gets! Group Sounds is a straight-up incredible rock n' roll album.

You all are forgetting the other option for Yellowcard: Play the option in order but move the title track to the end of the set! It's annoying when artists do that, but I kinda get it in their case as it's the biggest track and (frankly) that album kinda lags toward the end.

I'm super excited to finally hear Empty Apartment live though, which is my favorite YC song. I only saw them headline once in 2012 and it didn't make the cut.

I hope so, although last year on Saturday RTJ, Dropkick Muphys, Taking Back Sunday and Andrew WK overlapped closing stages.

That was just 2021.. wasn't really the case in 2016-2019 (you can easily google the schedules for each year)

I was actually doing that, looking at the schedules of past years lol

I originally thought maybe Yungblud would be the one playing during their set but that white board made it look like that wouldn’t be the case.

From the RF email that just went out about the album plays: "It'll be a joy to hear them all in a row, from "Way Away" to "Back Home": just how your iPod played it."

So Landon, I hope wherever you are you're able to run to their stage for the 4th song in their set

You know, both for the tour announcement and The Fest announcement, it just said that they were celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the album, not that they were necessarily playing it in full. Riot Fest seems like the only show they have specifically stated they are playing it in full at.

Seems like that's my goal! The game plan is to watch some Misfits, watch the first half of OA, then go back for more Misfits lmao

They are definitely playing it in full at every show

interesting that Riot said Yellowcard's set is an "exclusive reunion." Wonder how long that exclusivity is for, and if it only pertains to festival shows.

I thought the same thing for Sum 41 and Simple Plan but then they only added a couple of songs that that they don’t normally play into their setlist.

It wouldn't shock me if this was their only 2022 show, and then did a full run/more reunion shows next year. Bamboozle seems like a lock for them.

I'm assuming it just means that Riot Fest is where they are reuniting, not really pertaining to much after that. But I could be wrong.

"Yellowcard's biggest, most beloved record will be front-and-center for their exclusive reunion at Riot Fest 2022. It's known for the eponymous mega-hit "Ocean Avenue" that dominated airwaves and MTV at the time, along with the singles "Only One" and "Way Away".

If you're like us (as in, you bought Ocean Avenue with an iTunes gift card stuffed in your Christmas stocking), you're no doubt familiar with every song on the album. It'll be a joy to hear them all in a row, from "Way Away" to "Back Home": just how your iPod played it."

The social media posting makes me think they have more stuff in the works down the line... But that Riot Fest will be their only show this year. And likely the only show/tour announcement until after the festival.

Anybody else feel like this album play announcement would have packed a bigger punch if On the Impossible Past was an exclusive and/or if this announcement came ahead of their own tour announcement?

I think this is the first time that I like all of the albums being played. So I’m pretty happy with the announcement.

Honestly, same! The only one I have zero interest in is Fear.

So it's not a matter of how pleased I am so much as between the six album plays we're getting... The only two that are actually surprising (IMHO) are the Get Up Kids and Fear. I'm sure the excitement will sink and simmer over the next few months.

Fear played the Record in 2018.. it's weird they are doing it again, but I missed most of their set so I'm glad they are playing it again

Dicky Barrett had a great story on an old episode of Carolla about how he went to see Fear at SNL and ran into Ian MacKaye.. and they ended up causing $25,000 in damages to the studio
