Yeah, I don't think SDRE is a headliner either (although I wouldn't complain - they're a bucket list band for me), but I'm fairly certain they'll play.

 

Yeah I’m certain they’ll play. With a teaser a day before Riot’s announcement it makes sense

 

must: MCR, misfits, PtM, bauhaus

want: bleachers, fear, ice cube, gang of four, & algiers (if we count them from the bandsintown post)

would: gwar, bad religion, rocket from the crypt, AoF, holy fawn

the rest are all in the 'not for me' camp, but they are there nonetheless

 

Yeah, the anagrams didn’t do a whole lot to make me excited.

However, I am thinking that Chvrches may be a possibility which would be fun.

It's kinda making me want to find a cheap ticket and go tonight TBH.

 

I just checked, they are $25 (can probably save a few bucks in fees getting tix at the door)... that's not bad, plus We are the Union are great and isn't there a standup comic on the tour as well?

if chvrches happens, they definitely fit nicely with portugal the man and bleachers, but they are all fairly big names, so maybe they are the last 3 on a non-main stage... or all just spread out

Allow me to introduce y'all who haven't listened to The Maine to this record, which is one of my all-time favorites:

 

An all-time favorite for me too. Just an incredible record.

 

I like the one where the person was intimating that Riot Fest probably put bands that aren't actually playing in the anagrams puzzle.

People really don't understand this festival's vibe... They aren't actually mean and they don't actually fuck with people.

 

I'm very happy my 10:00 AM meeting tomorrow is one that I don't really have to pay attention to.

Also, found out some friends I haven't seen since high school are flying in from all around the country (including one from Hawaii) for this.

 

I have a recurring meeting every Wednesday at 10am CST so... That's a bummer. I'm'a be super distracted for the first 10-15 minutes or so of that one.

Figures too. I have 2+ hours free on either side of that timeframe, hah.

Sidenote: Compared to most other major festivals, Riot does a really impressive job of keeping the poster under wraps until the actual release.

 

I was thinking this today, too. There have been zero leaks or information anywhere and that's the way it usually goes with Riot. They have a good system in place.

 

are 3-day passes gonna move fast tomorrow? or can I put it off for a little bit and just freak out over the lineup for the week lol

 

They tend to get more expensive the longer you wait, so I wouldn't hold off too long. But I'm a total spaz so I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask haha.

 

I doubt it will sell out right away or anything, but I do think they'll move a ton of three day passes and Friday single-days tomorrow.

 

I'm always more concerned about getting a decently-priced hotel than anything else. Haha.
