and then did it AGAIN because a few months later Spring Break lined up the week The Greatest Generation tour hit the House of Blues.

That was a fun tour because a month later they hit Atlanta at the old Masquerade.

*broke and in college at the time but yes lol

  9. We always drive down from Minneapolis that Thursday night after work and stay in Rockford so we don't have to do the full drive/it's cheaper to stay at hotel there than Chicago. It's become the dumbest tradition at this point, but getting drunk on $3 giant beers at the hotel bar at midnight with the anticipation of the weekend is truly a blast.

Coming down Wednesday this year tho so we can have all day Thursday to run around Chicago and then go to whatever that Thursday night pre show ends up being.

The hungover drive back home on Monday is already not fun, I can't imagine having to do it on a Megabus, but that's def something I would've done in college too lol.

In 2013 we drove back after the festival, I left early to catch my megabus (before The Replacements played) ended up missing the megabus due to train issues and had to hop in the already overstuffed car with friends. It was the most miserable ending to the weekend ever lol

when i lived in boston i always took the mega bus back and forth to NYC and it was always a doozy, especially the time we got 20 minutes outside the city, the bus broke down, we all had to get out in a Massachusetts snow storm to wait for a new one, haha, classic mega bus.

only time ive ever tried to drive home night of a fest was punk in drublic in Columbus OH, headed back to st. louis and couldnt do it, got half way and then just slept in a gas station parking lot.

I'm doing the same thing this year. My partner wants to hit up some museums, try out a few vegan restaurants, etc. So we're flying in on Wednesday AM and taking an evening flight on Monday so we can spend 2.5 days or so doing shit in the city. I'm really looking forward to it -- and I always kinda love turning a festival into a bit more of a vacation, if that makes sense.

Hungover drives after a festival are the worst. The most painful hangover of my life took place on a drive from Gainesville to Orlando the Monday morning after the Fest in like, 2010. Never. Again.

Hah! You used to live in Boston? That's where I'm at. I don't know that you could ever pay me to take the MegaBus from here (or NYC for that matter). Especially after that snow storm story...

Nice! only lived in bean town from 07-10 but its still my favorite city.

I normally try to come up the day before to settle in / go to the FB solo group's preparty, but dont think i will this year with the extra day already added... unless thursday is announced as a full day event then i will try to shuffle things around.

What i will try and do again this year, that i suggest everyone do, is book like an 9 or 10 AM morning massage on Saturday or Sunday. nothin helps old guy in his mid 30's whos been in the pit & jumping &standing for +20 hours than a hearty full body rub.

Right on! It's a great city. What part were you in? I was living in Brookline and Brighton at the time (not at once; hah).

I'm kinda thinking that preview party is going to be a late afternoon/evening thing. Really can't wait to hear more about that, see who plays it, etc. The massage thing is a really, really great idea... Might need to keep that in mind!

98% certain that tweet is total bullshit and means nothing. Haha.

I plugged those letters into numerous anagram-solvers and I’ve yielded no results lol

I mean, when in the history of Riot Fest have they said something like that and it actually turned out to be a real thing?

I think there's always a better chance that they're still just making fun of Bamboozle for their over the top hints/games back in the day.

There's also only two vowels (two I's). So if a band has the word "it" or "is" in the first line of a song it would technically count. Haha.

I remember they did the same thing in 2018 or 2019, and it was all bs. You know, classic Riot Fest twitter guy.

Mainly Cambridge (near central sq, then moved near Lechmere) And Somerville (near porter sq) with a 6 month stint in Charlestown (right by the monument) in-between.

I'm pretty sure Nofx is headlining one of the secondary stages, so stitching/sticking that makes sense LOL
