I actually went to their tent yesterday and asked them if it's the same ones all radio stations are doing but the guy said the lineup is exclusive to them. He might be lying though.

Also I did the most dumb thing today. Saved all my vip drink tickets for today and got super drunk.

took all the rest of my energy out of me and now all I want is my bed don’t even want to stay or go to the tbs aftershow

Doubt it would be Rise Against considering they just played Northerly Island and Riot Fest, probably bands that haven't hit Chicago yet post-pandemic

Yeah they were better than I thought they’d be. My body is a pulp but I still saw Thursday, Simple Plan, Knuckle puck and now I’m watching Flaming Lips waiting for Slipknot.

I don't have a lot of bucket list bands left, but I'm crossing off one of the last ones with Slipknot tonight

  10. I had no idea how much I would appreciate Devo or The Flaming Lips! NFG’s crowd is definitely the biggest the stage has had, though pretty much still outside of the core pit areas.

unrelated — anything I should know about the venue ahead of time before checking out the Liar’s Club aftershow?

It’s dingy, close quartered, and punk as fuck. Wear a mask.

It seems like a ton of bands have been cutting their sets short this weekend. Sublime, Thursday and TFL all cut it short which was super odd.

I think they just make a setlist at a certain length and leave room for technical difficulties and whatnot, and then when it goes off without a hitch 10 minutes early, they just call it a win.

Had to head out early tonight. Our bodies just couldn't do it. Skipping out on the Bayside show too, sadly. Was a fantastic weekend all around and we're super happy with who we saw. Plus we got married! Fuck yeah.

Yeah, I thought skipping on NFG and Slipknot too after TGI but I figured it's the last day and I've never seen Slipknot before so I decided to stay. I might regret it tomorrow morning.

We're here until Thursday morning so we have time to recover but we've basically only done the fest and a quick trip to Buckingham Fountain since we've been here so definitely saving some energy to explore the city this week.
    Good luck tomorrow morning haha

They’ve only rehearsed what they have and only have the gear they needed. Some acts are also using replacements like Mayday Parade. Just the nature of the year.

I will never not be amazed by the level of energy NFG brings after so many years of touring. These guys are not human.

  19. Saw @natefoundglory today so it’s officially a complete Riot Fest.

Hugged friends I hadn’t seen in two years. Cried a little during “War All the Time” and jumped around like crazy to “Failure’s Not Flattering.” Watched half of Slipknot (who ruled) and called it a day, but I really needed this.

I hope the thread is quiet right now because you’re all watching Slipknot.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

MGK said they were cutting him off and ended his set 10-15 minutes before the scheduled end time. Not entirely clear why.

He did make fun of Slipknot twice during the set, but who knows if that’s the reason.

Probably another instance of pop star ego bullshit with a side of “gotta keep up with my current image of being tr00 pop punx 4 real.”

And sour grapes that his label couldn’t purchase a headlining slot on the main stage.
