They are from Chicago so I would think there’s a decent chance they stay on the bill.

 

Brendan is still living there. But Chris is in Los Angeles now and I'm not sure about Neil. So who knows. It all kinda depends on the individual situation.

If it's "family related" they may need to be in isolation or whatever. Riot is also before PRB so... Who knows.

 

Doesn't Neil live in Portland? I remember coming across his Instagram a while ago and I could’ve sworn that’s what it said

 

I just checked and it just says "the Lawrence Arms, Joyce Manor, etc." That's news to me! Hah!

FWIW, I asked them via Instagram if they were still on and they saw the message but didn't respond. They usually respond to random questions very quickly so... Not feeling hopeful at this point. Haha.

 

I remember I was working as a claims adjuster and Brendans wife called and I worked with her on a claim for an auto accident she had been involved in. This was last year. It was pretty weird.

unfortunately it seems possible but unlikely that TLA would be effected for a show a few days after riot, but not riot itself. unless the 'family issue' was that they forgot they were in a wedding that weekend or something :(

 

Not sure! I know Tony Thaxton did some drumming for whatever they were last recording so... Maybe Neil did as well? Either that or he's gonna be a touring drummer for them or something.

Yeah. I'm also vaguely recollecting Brendan saying something on a podcast months back about how Chris had someone in his family who was super susceptible to COVID. They probably felt okay about stuff but with vaccinations and such but given the Delta variant are now probably feeling a bit uneasy. So if that's the case, I definitely can't blame them. But take that with a massive spoonful of salt because I could also be misremembering.

Still super bummed about this now being a strong possibility. Losing your #1 out of a festival line-up is never fun.

Curious to see who they'd get as a replacement. Dillinger Four stepped in at PRB, but that definitely wouldn't be an equal replacement at Riot Fest.

 

They just posted an announcement that they're dropping Punk Rock Bowling and the Fest. Wonder if Riot is still on (because Chicago) or if they're waiting for the festival to announce something instead...

HAH! You're right. It's definitely Chris that lives in Portland. TBH, I always just assume Neil just kinda lives wherever his services are needed and has like, seven different apartments across the country. Haha.

I fully understand not wanting to go to either location. They can probably do Riot Fest and remain relatively isolated from others as-needed. There's a lot more space there.

 

Fwiw, Chicago Pride Parade just cancelled for Oct 3

 

Less worried about that since I don't think theres a gate or any system in place to track who comes in with or without vaccination. Riot will have some control over the coming and going inside. Still, doesn't make me feel GOOD.

 

So, I didn't make a comment about it because I was posting too much yesterday anyway but... When somebody made a remark about how quiet the Twitter was and if they were doing okay? I tweeted them asking how they were. Haha. And got this response this AM:

And now, for my next trick? I will obsessively watch Twitter for the next 4-6 hours until the actual update comes!

What are we thinking? More bands and the schedule? Or just more bands?

 

I almost joked yesterday “maybe just this ONE TIME, riot fest is waiting for one of us to ask them where the lineup is”
