Is anyone getting through for MCS?

 

I got mcs ticket! now I need to actually decide if I wanna go to bayside on sunday or not. so late.

 

Weird, it wasn't working on my laptop but I went right through on my phone. Either way, stoked on this. MCS was in my top 2 for must-see bands on Friday so I'm glad I can take them out of the mix if I have to! Pretty jazzed on this.

Did this person just give up when they got to Sunday? Most of their picks for the first two days make enough sense. But their Sunday makes no sense at all. Pixies headlining the pop punk stage?!

 

Just when I thought I was sick of them, this comes along and made me legit "LOL."

 

God I really don't want to show up on Thursday hoping for something like Buzzcocks or MIA and end up disappointed. They won't announce acts ahead of time right?

 

Feeling a little paralyzed re: comfort with an indoors aftershow...wish there was more guidance on how safe this shit is

im going to my first real multiple 1000s crowd indoor show tonight and am not sure what to expect (joyce manor in LA)

 

I might go to MCS if my friend wants to run over for the day. I'm not doing the fest though, it'd just be for the aftershow.

Nobody really knows. They've said from the jump that there will be some "surprise sets" or whatever. But that's pretty vague and could mean anything from you'll have no idea whose playing to you get the bands but not what kind of set it is or whatever. But now they've announced a headliner.

Given the negative reaction they've had from the general public I could see them announcing some of the non-Morrissey related bands, or at the very least dropping some aggressive hints, to make sure people come out.

Nobody really knows how it'll all play out. This is a first!

Same. That was my very first thought! The Psychedelic Furs are Thursday, I think, which might be fun...

Well, this is now Riot-relevant... At least he was vaccinated and seems to be okay but damn.

 

Him getting this now means he “should” be okay by Riot, correct? I mean, if he quarantines and the fact that it’s 4 weeks away.

 

Yeah and they don’t have any dates until September 3th. They have rocklahoma and inkcarceration before riot fest

 

I'm assuming he'll be good by then based on the post. But still. I do not envy festival organizers this year. It's bad enough having to replace headliners months out but it's becoming apparent that it could very well happen at literally any point in time.

 

The clockworks, who replaced White Lung, are really good. Interpol/bloc party vibes

 

If anyone wants a Psychedelic Furs ticket, let me know! With the Thursday set being open to 3 day folks, I'll probably end up doing that instead.

 

Instead of an ironic wall of death this year, we should try and coordinate a "wall of sound" during Morrissey's set. Everybody can sneak in a Bluetooth speaker, hold it above their head, and blast that Morrissey parody song from the Simpsons in his direction.

 

I really hope this catches on, such a good idea. And it doesn't require sweaty strangers touching each other

Riot Fest just dropped the info about the COVID policy on Facebook. Full vaccine or negative test, which we already knew... Photocopies or digital copies of the fax card will be accepted. If you just get tested, you have to have one on Friday and one on Saturday because it needs to be within 48 hours. That is super annoying and people are gonna be pissed but... Fuck 'em for not getting vaccinated.

Also: Dropping this on a Friday afternoon is a coward's move. Hah.
