Mine’s Joyce Manor in LA August 20th. But if LA’s indoor mask mandate doesn’t change, then it’ll be The Flaming Lips in OC August 26th. Haha

I saw Suicide Machines play on the floor off a bowling alley in Detroit on Tuesday and it was amazing. Seeing Cloud Nothings at the Rock Hall tonight and then Rise Against (in a 500 cap room), OWTH and a local hardcore show next week!

I'll be getting a ticket to the Boston show I'm sure. But I'm putting it off because I'm still a little bitter because we got a single Blaze show in a 1.2k capacity venue rather than two shows across two nights in a smaller venue they could undoubtedly sell out. Haha.

Stoked you got DP, though! That's my favorite Lagwagon record.

My first show back was a few weeks ago, actually! The Bouncing Souls with Bane, Sick Of It All, H2O, and Rebuilder. Incredibly sick line-up.

Up next? Hella Mega on August 5th. I might see Of With Their Heads the night before that one, but I'm not sure if I'm able to go yet...

I’ve already been to a few shows but I’m also seeing Jimmy Eat World next Friday!

I am extremely jealous that you were at the Bane reunion. Did they say anything about possible future shows?

Me too. Gonna be at the Limp Bizkit one also. Not sure if I need to bring proof of vaccination though.

No mention of future shows. And TBH, I really doubt it's going to happen. In fact, when the benefit show first got announced people kept hitting up Zach asking if Bane would be playing... And he consistently said no way. They weren't a band anymore, etc.

I'm pretty sure the only reason they played was because Stu passed away and it sort of... Felt like the thing to do. I'm not sure if you've seen footage or pics of it, but the way they handled it was extremely respectful and straight-up emotionally chilling.

It felt more like a "in the moment" sort of thing that they did to honor their brother/bandmate who passed away rather than a full-on reunion.

My first normal show was Limp Bizkit playing a state fair in Hammond, Indiana last week, which was a lot of fun. I also worked a two day festival in Grand Rapids where Korn and Rob Zombie headlined, both of which were very good.

My first normal club show back will be a show that hasn't been announced yet, but until then, it'll be Phoebe Bridgers in September. Everything else is outdoors until then.

I’m waiting until early October for the Bayside tour. September seemed too soon and I want to see how tours are going before I go to a show. I stacked my October/November with shows. With the rise in cases I’m hoping that most of those go on as planned.

Lollapalooza, but maybe I will go to the All Time Low aftershow on Wendesday before Lolla starts

I’ve never listened to this band before but I’m at a street festival here and Smoking Popes are playing and they seem like the perfect band to play Riot. They probably already have since they are from here but they just scream “Riot Fest” to me haha. They’re pretty great too, especially going into the set completely blind on literally everything about them. They seem like an overall fun band!

They are most definitely a "Riot"-type band! They've played a few times over the years (2010, 2011, 2013, and 2016) and they were a very big influence on a few other acts that have played Riot over the years. Most obviously Bayside, I think.

Definitely a fun band! The albums almost always feel like they're 2-3 songs too long, but you really can't go wrong with a Smoking Popes "best of" playlist.

Smoking Popes are a lot of fun. I wish I could’ve gone tonight but I just finished moving (within walking distance of the show too - talk about bad timing)

Smoking Popes rule. Their record Into the Agony was super underrated, it was easily one of my favorites of 2018.

Smoking Popes are really unique. It’s like if The Smiths were a 90’s punk band

This is pretty spot-on. Except the Smoking Popes singer eventually came back from his bizarre, problematic phase (and said-phase was fueled by religion; not just senility).

Oh I totally forgot about that. I recalled something was up with them, but I couldn’t exactly remember what it was

Now Reddit is trying to guess Chevelle for Thursday. I don’t get why people keep guessing bands that have 0 ties with Riot Fest, let alone ones that aren’t really in their wheelhouse.
