Didn’t even think about this one, but now I’m hoping so too!

 

They changed the wording on the lineup page ... it used to say "I have no idea" for when the lineup is coming out, now it says "Next week? Maybe ...". Didn't think to check the lineup page this week until now so I am not sure when they made the change.

I interpret this as yet another sign they intend to release it next week

they are playing lolla and headlining a stage Friday night so i highly doubt they play riot

 

BMTH is playing Lolla so I’d be shocked if they were at Riot. Definitely think the lineup is next week now

Is anyone else waiting on the Mamby lineup too? Apparently it was moved to August. So add that to a crowded few weeks of festivals.

I’m not sure if the Mamby lineup would have any crossover with the Riot lineup, but I’m curious on who they book.

 

I've been watching for that too, mainly to confirm if they might have booked any of the bands being speculated for Riot Fest (Flaming Lips maybe? but probably not). They still haven't updated their website to show the 2019 dates and it's only 3 months out now, no tickets on sale or lineup yet. I wonder if it's going to happen. At this rate it looks like Riot Fest will beat them to a lineup.

I believe I heard that Mamby is supposed to have a focus on Women/LGBT artists this year so unless the artist being speculated on fits those categories they are probably still in play for Riot. Specifically I think the Flaming Lips are still a safe bet.

I just read on a Facebook group that the word is the lineup is out Wednesday and there is a reunion/band reuniting this year.

 

Post on Reddit said there's a radio ad floating around in Chicago saying the lineup is out Wednesday!

May 28th marks the last offical show by Op Ivy, although Wikipedia says they played another show the next day for family and friends, so on wednesday 29th it will be exaclty30 years since the last Op Ivy show, and that same day Riot would announce their line up.

Maybe it's a stretch but it would be cool if that day Riot announce Op Ivy reunion.

I already know that I won't be going this year, and I'm all sorts of excited/anxious to (hopefully) get another teaser video and see what the line-up.

I'm guessing that'll be coming our way tomorrow AM with the line-up to come tomorrow night?

 

I'm thinking they might have dropped some of the bullshit around their lineup release this year because of how terribly everything went last year. At least I hope that's the case...

 

I think the initial line-up release went fine last year. It was the shit that followed where they really dropped the ball.

I've also noticed a bit of a pattern. The more noise they make about the line-up coming out? The less exciting it will be. The year they had Jawbreaker and Nine Inch Nails? It came out early, seemingly out of nowhere. The year they had the Misfits? There was that one video. But it was still relatively quiet.

You might also be right. They might just be stepping it back some this year, trying not to over-hype things.
