This was nice to see. I’m really happy for Run the Jewels, honestly. They’ve worked so hard and it’s so cool to see them headlining a festival.

 

but are they the biggest band on sunday? like are they bigger than incubus?

serious question, so i hope that doesn’t off condescending haha. i just know incubus is huge (they just headlined a day of bunbury this summer) and i guess idk enough about run the jewels to know if they’re that big!

 

Well I think it kind of depends how you look at it. I think Incubus is a lot bigger at rock festivals like Riot and Bunbury to a lesser extent, and my understanding is those festivals are roughly the same size. I think RTJ is bigger in a mainstream audience in 2018, whereas Incubus has the legacy status that makes them a big get. RTJ is also very hot right now and continuing to get bigger, so this is kind of a case of maybe Riot being one of the first places to really take the chance on them as a proper headliner. This will be one of (if not the) first times they’ve headlined a fest this size, but it’s not gonna be the last.

 

Plus Killer Mike is pals with Bernie which is pretty rad.

 

I’d say they’re pretty comparable in their separate genres for a festival like this.

 

Honestly right now I’m taken by surprise at how excited I am to see Blondie again and I really hope they don’t conflict with anything too crazy

Genuine question because I'm confused and there's a lot of information- is RTJ the main headliner that day alone or are they like coheadlining with incubus? I also don't know if like...stage layout or anything plays into this.

 

I imagine it’ll be similar to Ween and the Flaming Lips in 2016. They’ll probably get the same amount of time closing out the two main stages.

 

So question mark band aren't playing now? Or maybe they're a surprise set? Who knows!
