Yeah, for us it's over an hour red to the pink line. And an uber is way too expensive and even longer. I feel like Humboldt might be somewhat shitty but at least there's a lot more to do around there and it's easier to get to.

The area around the park is no longer shitty.

The only headliner I'm going for is blink-182, never seen them and I think they will never go back to my country, so this is my chance. I got 3 day tickets and will go the 3 days to see more bands and discover new music, but I'm su bummed there are no 3rd headliner

Yeah I’m at Broadway and Lawrence in Uptown and this is my first Riot Fest. Definitely not looking forward to the trip each day.

I used to live in the suburbs and then Jeff Park. Getting to Humboldt was easy. Getting to Douglas Park was and still isn't now that I'm in Avondale.

Oh I know, I used to live right off Kedzie and Cortland, I thought it was a great area. I just meant it's not as shitty as Douglas to everyone else that attends the fest.

I'm at Winthrop and Lawrence. The trip sucks. Especially if there's a show at the Aragon (we live literally across the street from it)

This is why I've never looked at Uptown. Well, that and the methadone clinics.

So what happened to RF? I've been attending since it was at different venues and indoors. The festival got so huge with 3 different events, then just back to Chicago but with like 7 stages... and now down to 4 stages and a complete cluster fuck. How did this all go downhill so fast?

    nah.

i live on grand and narragansett. not too far from north ave. i could just take a bus to humboldt park or drive and park nearby on one of the side streets. douglas park, the further west you go, the scarier it gets.

there's no place like my room Supporter

Douglas park has the lagunitas right next door, plus the church that serves real good cheap meals on your walk to transportation. I'm about it

The first year they were outdoors was also when they tried to do Dallas and Brooklyn. Brooklyn was canceled because of a storm and Dallas was, if I recall, mediocre.

The next year was Toronto and Denver. Toronto didn't last that long because of funding and Denver shut down because of venue issues that seemed to occur every year.

We all know the story about why they're in Douglas Park.

The number of stages had been dwindling since in Douglas Park as well as the carnival rides. Vendors seemed reduced last year, too. So maybe all the signs were there and we just didn't know...

Blink has 9/14 listed on their tour poster for Riot. 100% they're Friday

Alk3 is either Fri or Sun and I would assume Sun

My car got broken into on sunday last year, parked a tiny bit west of the park. the only thing of value damaged was the window itself. And if they were trying to steal the car well it pays to have a manual trans haha

  21. campeondeluniverso

    nah.

that shit is infuriating! i got my car broken into (along with a couple other cars) about ten years ago at a train parking lot. they took NOTHING!

Looks like there is some validity potentially to the Thursday announcement claims.
