I mean, everybody knows that they're "offensive." But that shit was weak. Mostly because it didn't come off as a joke so much as Fat Mike just... Speaking what he truly felt. Nobody bats an eyelash when he makes jokes about other bands being shitty or uses Jewish slurs (because he's Jewish himself) but that clearly crossed a line they hadn't really ever crossed before.

I get why people were upset.

That being said? It didn't bother me beyond "Ugh, that's a bad fucking look" and I'd be stoked about them being added.

Would also explain the delay.

Interesting... Sounds reliable too. What do you mean by "freight," out of curiosity? Or would that be saying too much?

 

I wasn't necessarily speaking to the scene waking up because they've always filled that shock jock role within the scene and people accepted it. It was everyone else but it was only a matter of time before Fat Mike would slip up in this current environment and be called out...

just instruments, production stuff and merch. last year, we moved a lot of riotfest stuff. so far, nothing has come through for any riotfest artists. last year, we had MIA and Jawbreaker stuff and QOTSA merch.

Right on! Do things usually come through around this time of year, or would they have come in earlier? (That is, would NOFX be a late add or... Might they have booked them a while back and just not announced?)

 

Beach Rats removed the instagram post announcing their Riot Fest date.

If they jumped the gun by a couple hours, I don't think they would have pulled it.

This REALLY makes me think it ain't happening today.

some bands drop have their stuff dropped off here early, sometimes a couple days before. depends how much stuff they have. booking wise, i know nothing about that end. my friend said he was with NOFX manager at Lollapalooza. that's my only source to the NOFX tip.

With that said I have to say I did the layaway tickets this year for Riot Fest. I believe that last payment was open on 9/4 to pay off but I got the email today saying it's due to pay. It's weird that they opened it early to get in the payments....Maybe I'm reaching but thought I'd throw it out there.
