I was supposed to have a giant meeting at work on the 17th so I booked my flight to come back Sunday night, but that got cancelled so depending on the schedule I might try to change my flight to Monday. Fingers crossed the schedule drops this week so I can make that call.

 

I just want to buy daily tickets since I can only go Sunday lmao.

 

I want to know the full daily schedule to see if there’s one day (or more) that has enough bands on there I would see. There are a lot of shows coming up and being announced that I think a lot of locals (including me) who are on the fence may skip out due to other shows coming up and wanting to spend money on those instead.

If one of the headliners backed out and they are /were scrambling to find a new headliner, that sucks, but you have to prepare for those things. Last year, it was said that The Weeknd dropped out of Lollapalooza because he wasn’t going to be billed first overall on the lineup over Chance the Rapper. Lollapalooza managed to find a replacement (The Killers) in time before the lineup drop happened (and the lineup wasn’t delayed at all). Also, I know Lollapalooza has a list of reserve bands that will play if a band or musician has to back out. Riot Fest should have a system like that because it sure seems like they do not.

The announcement is that "Riot Fest" is changing it's name to "Troll Fest"

 

Honestly I'm kind of shocked at how much it turns out I kind of like Young the Giant? I never really gave them much thought cus I thought they were just kind of a boring indie rock band, but I've had a few songs in my Riot Fest playlist and when they come on shuffle I keep thinking I really like this who is this, then I check and its them.

 

Cough Syrup is a bop.

 

Are Young the Giant one of those "sneaky popular" bands like Panic! at the Disco? I mean, obviously not the same size as them but I'm pretty stunned at how high up on the bill they are.

The fact that they're billed above Interpol, Blondie, Father John Misty, and the Dropkick Murphys is a bit surprising to me.
