Well that sure makes it look like they're just going to bump up Costello. No mention of more additions either.

 

I don't think that's true, I just don't think they're going to put up a billboard with giant question marks on it.

Bands on that poster: 11 + 80 = 91

Bands on the current lineup = 82

So there's GOTTA be more coming....

 

I used to live like five blocks from there too...I miss the old hood. :(

 

Yeah, I'd be more inclined to go if it was still in Humboldt.

 

Plus that poster just pulled random bands. There’s no Alkaline Trio, Father John Misty, etc.

 

I wonder if that means Elvis Costello got bumped to 3rd headliner?

 

I take the north ave bus to and from work every weekday. I noticed that billboard on my way home yesterday and thought 'huh I wonder how long that's been there' haha

 

That billboard is clearly a placeholder.

 

They wouldn't put up a billboard with ???.

They also wouldn't put up a billboard this close to the festival date without the third headliner listed.

Whoever they had in mind for ??? fell through, and Elvis Costello is getting bumped up.

 

That contest ends Aug 20th. Isn’t that the same day as the other contest? Hopefully we’ll get more info next week around that date? Hopefully...

Nah. It would just be really weird for them to put a billboard up with the ???. I'm inclined to think they had to submit that billboard a while ago before it went up...

They had the same kind of format (i.e., no ???) on the Warped Tour sign and at a few of the earlier live events.

Yup, and there's that weird "Mixtape Week" thing going on next week too. That would make sense... But we've also been saying that for a month now, hah.

Wouldn't it, though? I love how with every day that goes by people keep going "Oh, they must be waiting for [insert band name here]" on Reddit. It started with Warped Tour... And now people are predicting Pearl Jam. LOL.

 

I think some people are being overly optimistic about the possibilities for big names to be added to the lineup at this point. I really don't think the festival has the resources this year to add additional big name acts or even a third headliner. I suspect that someone in the first wave will be bumped up to third headliner. I just want to see the festival make things seem official by releasing a daily schedule and I'll be happy with any 2nd wave additions.

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if Incubus got bumped up to the third headliner. Maybe for like, day one

 

I could see Incubus getting bumped too, but we know blink is playing Friday night.

 

Damn this is right by where I used to live. Like a couple minute walk. Would have been fun to do this.

 

If Riot Fest announces their 2nd wave this week, I will EAT a picture of the lineup, record myself doing so, and post it here

And I’ll wash it down with the alcohol of everyone's choice
