The final headliner is the Format you heard it here first

I can't believe this still isn't announced lol

Announcing the aftershows less than a month out is also a pretty bad move and I can't imagine we're getting those this week

I would love the format to headline but i think this thread already ruled them out

This would actually thrill me. Obviously doesn't have the same weight as Jawbreaker or Misfits but it's a band whose history has shifted because of fun. and (aside from a one off show in 2014, apparently) they haven't played in over a decade. Might be kind of an interesting get all things considered. I mean what the hell is Nate doing?

I was just kidding, I don’t think they’d headline even if they did reunite.

Have we discussed Bring Me the Horizon as a potential addition? Apparently there have been flyers popping up for them and so far Chicago is the only city in America that seems to have gotten one. I can't imagine why they would exclusively send these flyers to Chicago if it was not related to a Chicago show (as opposed to just album promo).

I don't think it's been discussed (at least not recently), but that would be a pretty strong addition for the festival.

Serious question: Would they be big enough to be the third headliner?

They closed out a night last time they were at Riot Fest. Crowd was small though.

Yes, they are big enough now.

My gut says no when I first thought about it, but I mean.. maybe? Especially if it was an "emergency" addition of sorts. I mean I would argue they're probably bigger than anyone else on the lineup but Blink and Beck and if it's billed right (only US apperance until next summer or something)... I think it's possible.

It's worth noting they were playing against the Cure and Weezer if I remember correctly. If they were given the main headlining slot, I think they'd draw a crowd.

It was one of those, think it was raining (surprise) and the last day of the fest too if I recall.

I saw some of those cult posters around Wicker Park on my way to work the other day, and I called the number, it's just some creepy shit for like 5 mins haha. Didn't even think of this as a possibility until now though, and I had no clue that Chicago was apparently the only city this has been happening in here so that's definitely interesting

Nah, they just played Logan Square Arts Fest. Radius clause takes them out.

    But seriously, they did.

Y'all need to fill me on this poster nonsense.

BMTH would be a good get but the RF crowd is not a BMTH crowd.

if bullet for my valentine is gonna play riot fest, why not just go a step up and invite bring me the horizon? i think they'd be a pretty good fit...better than smash mouth or limp bizkit. :)

Green Day but they just play Smash Mouth and Limp Bizkit covers as punishment for swboyd moving out of Chicago

I'm not too big on BMTH but their announcement syncs up a bit with the end of Roit Fest's two big contests right now so them playing kinda makes sense, BMTH are allegedly supposed to reveal something on Aug 21st, and the Riot Fest scholarship ends the 20th and the puppy contest ends the 22nd, if they drop the second wave lineup after those contests having BMTH on it makes sense to me

Throw my hat into the ring with their delayed schedule and second wave making us make a tough choice. Girlfriend has to start making the work schedule and we're only doing one day. I told her that we skip it if they can't get their shit together.

RF Twitter Guy said everything is on schedule so that makes somewhat sense. I just cannot understand why they’d wait this late for 3rd headliner and single day tickets. Aug 21st is basically 3 weeks before the festival. This is just crazy late.

I have to assume they had a headliner that fell through. I wonder who it would have been.
