I'm just not gonna get my hopes up, but I'd love to be wrong! It would be a huge get for Riot Fest to pull that one off. Even if it's just the first date of a longer tour.

 

it could totally be a test run/precursor to the larger tour in late 2018/early 2019. i could see it being win-win for them, early buzz for the tour, getting to do a trial run of the set +the easy extra money... not likely, but getting hyped on arbitrary speculation is part of the fun!

 

Also, if you can, try and get there to see Rozwell Kid and Snail mail. They are both so good.

I would love for a Green Day Dookie set but I’m not going to get my hopes up. But then again Billi Joe’s son is already going to be there and I don’t know if they would be bothering with practicing that set list if they weren’t going to be playing it until next year. I’m just going to quit now before I get optimistic.

 

If there were a Dookie set in the works? There would have been a question mark on that announcement. Unless the festival is being super hedgy (e.g., maybe they're in talks with the band and they didn't commit to the record yet)... But in the past they've always been very willy-nilly about those ???? on the posters, hah.

I'd love for that to be a thing, and I really think Green Day is the only additional headliner that I'd be stoked about (obvious pie-in-the-sky hope reunions aside).

But this is the sort of shit that band just... Does. Didn't they randomly play that record at some club over in the UK after a festival performance? Billie-Joe has been doing all sorts of random one-off cover gigs and shit this year too...

I'd be more excited/hopeful if Green Day weren't a band notorious for doing cool shit just to do it. I'm not getting my hopes up for it.

 

I'd split your time, both are super awesome live for different reasons.

Yeah, I expect it about as much as I expect the op ivy reunion. Both would be awesome but I’m not holding my beats for either this year.

 

The other way to look at it would be to say "They're playing it cool" and not letting on but... That would be a really big get, and I'd think the message from Riot Fest last week would have said something to the effect of "And we have a few more surprises for you!" or something, hyping it at least some.

I think what they have coming in this second wave is going to be "fine," but nothing mind-blowing or huge based on the way they're dealing with it.

 

Silverstein teased something about the 15th anniversary of their album When Broke Is Easily Fixed... maybe 2nd wave addition?

 

The Get Up Kids tonight said they would see us "very soon" with an emphasis on the very soon. I think it's possible they are on the second wave.

Lucero and War on Women are out for Wave 2. They’re opening Jawbreaker’s show in Jersey the same weekend.

 

If TGUK gets added maybe Against Me can also be added and that would be amazing

It really can't be just a coincidence they waited until Warped and Wicker Park Fest were over to announce Wave 2. At least I hope it isn't.
