Dave is really so integral to the band. His drumming/vocals are so key.

The guy playing bass had some pretty solid vocals, too. But yeah, Dave's vocals are great.

I miss John Warne on bass/vocals. I liked Ace Troubleshooter and thought he fit really well with the band. They all sounded so good on the Live at Capitol acoustic tracks. I forget how good Hoopes sounds too

Was just listening to Five Score...
Damn, this album is a lot better than I remembered, such a catchy pop rock record.

  6. I love all (well, most) of their records, but the run from mmhmm - FANSD is untouchable.

  7. I think I come back to Two Lefts... as much any these days. Sneaky great pop-punk album.

Agreed. Two Lefts might be the one I'm returning to most lately. Such a great album.

Tongue in Cheek will always be my record record by these guys, it was the album that got me into the band and I have so much youthful nostalgia tied to it, but Five Score, Two Lefts, and Mmhmm are right up there for me as well. Such a great band

Anatomy was my first album with them as well, but mmhmm just is the absolute peak, such an incredible album. All of them are pretty solid though, can't go wrong with the band

I think they just got better and better until FANSD.

Probably an unpopular take…while I appreciate FANSD for the amazing record it is, I rarely listen to it. Same with AFF. I just love RK’s solidly pop punk stuff so much.

I actually rarely return to FANSD as well. While I love it and think it's brilliant, I turn to almost every other album instead when I want Relient K.

I'm the opposite, despite really loving Mmhmm and liking Two Lefts a lot I rarely ever go back to them other than a few songs.

FANSD, Air for Free and Five Score are my RK go-to's.

I’ll listen to anything Two Lefts and on. Recently I’ve probably listened to AFF and FANSD most. But they’re all bangers.

also the Nashville ep is underrated and awesome.

I agree. I really like FANSD and think AFF is pretty good too, but they’re my least favorite RK records. I just personally gravitate to their upbeat, more energetic stuff more and thought they did it so much better than most bands

Same here, it’s a record I have to be in the mood for. The heavier lyrics hit different past a certain age.

Wouldn’t it be wild if he wrote a new RK song?

Damn this is good. But yeah god forbid a new RK album would come out and sound like this.

    Fight the long defeat.

*Sees Jason post in the Relient K thread.*
*Not a new RK album announcement.*
    *Visible sadness.*

Jokes aside, this song sounds right off MMHMM (artwork and all!). If songs this good are being given away, hopefully the Matts are holding some in reserve for the next RK era.

Someone quick tell them ‘Vega era’ is already taken by Anberlin. /s
But for real I wish they would still make music like their earlier records. The last two LPs are not really my cup of tea. Although the ‘Look on up’ single was really great.
