Just read this thread and then my sister calls in sick to Christmas

 

Gina went to work at 1:30 so I'm hanging out by myself watching basketball in my pajamas and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Don't take it personally if she faked it haha

 

I've always made it clear that the actual day of my birth is my day. I've always taken it off work and always done what ever I wanted to do. I'll do parties and hangs with friends around the actual day but the day of has always been me time.

 

Snowy Christmases make me wish I had any current or potential romantic partners. I just want to sit by the fire reading with a good record on tonight with someone awesome snuggled up with me.

also i hate going to things so I have become a pro at getting out of almost anything through a series of leaving small bits of information sprinkled in the lead up to the event that could reasonably cause someone to have to miss something.

If I don't want to do something I just tell people no and that I don't want to do that.

Probably why I don't have many friends but it's very freeing not trying to make up some bullshit to get out of things.

 

That’s the way it should be. I respect a “no” so much more than simply never replying. It’s something that has been frustrating me a lot recently. Twice I’ve had potential plans, with different people, and instead of saying no I just never got confirmation or anything. Like, I don’t give a fuck if you don’t wanna hang out! I just need to know so I can plan my day.

 

me and my partner almost broke up then had sex. despite how great it was, i'm still really anxious about our future. she just isn't into the stuff i'm into, and when she tries to participate, she gets really bad anxiety. i feel like a lot of the things she enjoyed doing with me doesn't jive with her anymore. i'm really open and easy to please, so i'm almost always enjoying myself doing anything (unless i'm at a party/club with a shitty dj). idk neither of our needs are being met and we're both not sure what to do.

Speaking of ppl assuming others religions, my mom's husband's brother got all passive aggressive cause the family doesn't say grace. He was over for dinner and was like "oh I must have missed when we said grace" and I'm like dude sry not everyone believes what u do. If u wanna say grace before u eat, nobody is stopping u??? Ppl are weird.

 

I had no idea that saying grace is a real thing that people did

 

I grew up in a family that did, and it still makes me feel really weird when people pray before a meal, especially in a restaurant. The family still does when I visit Kansas, and I always give really apologetic awkward glances to servers that try to visit the table while it's happening.

 

my family used to do it when I was younger I always thought it was weird.

 

I've only known a few ppl who do, and they all have pastors in the family. I have also been part of literal prayer circles lol. I don't believe, but I still sorta stand on the fringe of the circle and look down to be polite as I just think about random things, but they make me uncomfortable as well. My sis used to work at KFC and there was a guy who would come in every day and say Grace before he ate. I couldn't imagine delaying the food, but I admire the commitment!

 

My family prays before every meal if it's a family gathering. They don't do it at restaurants though( anymore)
