Eh, seems like something you'd want to tell someone to their face (if given the appropriate time/place), but hey, at least you gave it a shot. Some people don't muster up that courage at all so good on you for that. Plus, having feelings (mutual or not) for a co-worker can be tricky.

Haha I hear ya. For me, I don't usually just jump in and tell the person all willy-nilly. If there's clearly a chemistry there and has been for a little while then I just kinda go for it. Sometimes it's worked out. Other times it hasn't.

i have dated two coworkers before, one of which was my last relationship (although we both left the job within months of becoming an item). in both instances, they practically spelled out their feelings for me in a way no person could miss or misinterpret so i felt comfortable pursuing them, and a mutual coworker invited us over a couple of nights to play matchmaker. if it weren't that way i likely would not have because it is entrapment on some basic level. like i am not at all judging folks who ask out coworkers but if there was a shred of doubt in my head, i think the fear of creating a negative work environment would override all else.
