For real. The thing I dislike about okc's photo "policy" is that they don't care/it's not agains their terms to cover your face/not show your face. I straight up see guys wearing motorcycle helmets and it doesn't get removed

 

I always push it just far enough and then wrap it up with "so when are you free to get a drink and go record shopping?" All my dates are either at a bar close to me or the record store or art museum. Always cheap or free. Low risk high reward

Damn that's smart. I always usually take them to a fancy restaurant so they don't realize how average and awful I am. Which is fine because, you know, food, but when I realize my meal is 70 bucks that means hers is at least 70 then the fun gets sucked out fast.

And don't forget to add in the goddamn 12 dollar mojito they always order!

Yeah man, definitely got to try doing first dates at free city museums or something or cheap hobby stores. It gives you a chance to walk around and talk and also if conversation drop you can just start talking about the art or make a joke about some weird album or something. I don't do dinner on first dates because I hate eating in front of other people and the sound of people eating puts me on edge and literally makes me agitated and angry. Plus you get to save all that money and have more time to talk. But I'm still single and lonely and drunk on a Tuesday evening so don't take my advice

my first date with my current girlfriend we went to a bar and then i called the banana cab in town and asked them to "drive me around downtown" but then hung up when they said it would cost $70 and then a cop knocked on my car window right as we finished hooking up.

But, mostly it's just a low key night at a bar or movie then food to rip the movie apart

 

Guy is cool with meeting where I suggested and he chose a local coffee shop that was on my list of places, so that means I hope he has a car because also I think the train goes down that area too.

Amused by the dating profile photo woes. I totally get the hate on the snap chat filters. I can't abide a 28 year old woman wearing fucking puppy ears and manga eyes.

I got sort of catfished years ago by a girl who had (I presume) used fairly old pictures of herself. When I arrived at the cafe I was meeting her at, I actually walked right past her (even though I'd looked at her). Made for a seriously awkward time as I made my way through four hours of conversation, trying to resolve my displeasure that the person who had showed up was not the person advertised.

I've also had kind of the opposite though, where a girl had used pictures I was a bit worried about. They looked old (she looked much younger in them than her profile said) and were mostly from odd angles, but she was actually far better looking in person.

I'm intrigued now. I want to see what pictures other people are using on their profiles!

Mine are pretty honest reflections of myself really. I'm not trying to hide anything.

Well, apart from my enormous feet

 

Only did the tinder/okcupid thing once and it resulted in the most intensely passionate yet totally unhealthy relationship of my life with someone I was incredibly attracted to but drastically unsuited for. It was simultaneously the best and worst year of my twenties and now I am on anti-depressants haha. I don't know if I'd ever do it again, I think it really soured me to dating for a bit. Things a person does or says on a platform that is explicitly looking for hookups or dates cheapens everything a bit.

I may be old school but I like the rush of saying hi to a cute stranger at a bar or a party. I've been rejected a bunch, but if you get rejected in person enough times you get hardened to it, and that quality takes you places. And I have been rejected big time.
