I made some close friends in here, doesn't seem too much harder to meet a partner if the right person is here

I'm not saying I don't or wouldn't, I'm saying it's simply easier when it's a platonic thing or not right away. I like things to be blunt, it's my preference. I'm not saying anyone who has met someone here is bad or wrong, I just prefer to hash things out quick. Friendships turning into relationships is cool but if you're looking for a relationship, that's a different thing.

I met a guy on a green day message board once, he ended up being weird and we never hung out. I think he noticed that I added his friend on MySpace and he had a crush on her too, it wasn't cool.

Its not easy meeting somebody and pursuing a relationship with them and conversing with them and getting to know them etc etc in any context.

It's really not, some people might have very different opinions or maybe don't want to be personal off of the interwebs etc.

My only rule is I won't talk to flatearthers, no offense

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Going on a date Friday night with someone who has a kid. We're both almost 26, and the kid is probably 7 or so. I know this is super common, but it's my first time going out with someone who has a kid.

Any tips or ideas on what to expect if things go well?

Haha I had to fuckin work hard for mine. My girlfriend is an awful texter, better now. But when we first met I had to really ignore my insecurities when she wouldnt respond. An excruciating but very healthy exercise. I had to court her for a while but well worth it. Shes the best.

Focus on her first, seem open to their kid but don't make it a big deal or force the issue. Especially since it's your first date, don't overthink it. Some people don't feel comfortable talking about their kid, especially right away. If she brings it up, just act cool but I don't think it'll be a big thing (at least from my own experience).

    Nope

I wish I could say yes, but everyone's different with how they approach dating while parenting. My advice though is to take it slow for the kid's sake, even if the kid's mom wants an immediate connection and to rush you into the kid's life
