This is gonna be pretty telling of the mistakes I've made but. My ex got emotional one or two times and asked me to get her pregnant. I should have run far away at that point but it was my first relationship and I was ~in love~ so instead I stuck around and eventually got her pregnant by accident. Now she's on her third child with the third guy, while I haven't been in a relationship since.

Other than the last sentence (and that it wasn't my first relationship) this was my exact scenario.

tbh, as much as I don't want to accidentally have a kid, there's something oddly attractive about a girl asking me to get her pregnant.

Aside from not wanting children, the fear I have of ever having one is that they turn into a shitty person. If my kid became the equivalent of a Trump supporter, I'd have to disown them.

I feel like if I had a kid, I'd constantly feel guilty. Granted I already do but with a kid I feel like that would be amplified.

Dang. Y'all are good guys for not running from taking care of your kids. I can't imagine the stress from court and to getting to spend time with them.

Thank you. I don't feel like I'm doing anything remarkable by not bailing on my daughter of course. But I do feel like a good dad. And the court stuff is indeed a nightmare

It is a really stressful experience, and mine wasn't nearly as stressful as Chase's has been (at first). But yeah, he summed it up pretty well. I feel like the hardest part is knowing you're going to have a child and picturing that it's just "all falling together" and feeling ready to settle down and enjoy the experience, and then watching it all fall apart and knowing there's nothing you can really do about it, haha. But I'm glad it happened in my case, my ex and I are best friends now even though she treated me like human refuse for the first half year or so of my child's life, and it works out so much better than our relationship ever did haha.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

i will never have kids. never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever.

i will flee the country, change my name, do whatever if i ever make that mistake.

    * note: i do not think kids in general or having kids is a mistake for OTHERS, but it definitely is for me. I am far too greedy, selfish and in love with my freedom / free time to manage being a parent in any capacity.

i have a kid in my sims game, and that is already too much work.

but i respect everyone that has them, my sister and her husband have three boys (ages ranging from 6 months to 6 years), just watching them play and be kids makes me exhausted.

HA! I was about to comment essentially the same thing, and said this to my boss earlier today when she was telling me about her niece having her 4th kid at 24. I'm 24. The thought of having 4 kids gave me anxiety. Good lord.

You guys that have kids are something else, kudos to you.

Sims got too easy once you were able to give others objects (transfer money between sims in the form of flat screen TVs). Once I maxed out my skills it was all smooth sailing from there, no matter how many generations I ended up with.

Yeah, generations. I played that game too much.

I think I'd like a kid when I'm older. I go back and forth on it. I want a girl though. Like I kinda really don't want a boy the more I think about it.

same, I never felt comfortable teaching masculinity and what it means to be a man, and now that's coupled with realizing that most men are terrible and what if I raise a terrible kid is it my fault

I mean, I don't think you need to teach them anything about masculinity or femininity. Just let them be and teach them not to assholes. Or, in my case, raise them in the Marxist-Leninist tradition.

Honestly I just don't understand the father son dynamic too well and something about it always seemed awkward to me.

I have a daughter but I don't think I would do much different if I had a son. Obviously things get complicated in the teenage years but honestly just teach your kids solid morals and support their interests and be sensitive to their needs and they should be fine.

If I am to have kids I definitely want a boy. It would be cool to have a girl too, they're awesome 2-11, but boy first and if I am to have a second kid then boy again.

My dad was relieved that he had two girls bc he didn't want boys.

I've never played the Sims but it's funny reading about y'all having sim's kids lol
