That's definitely a good thing your family is like that, it took a long time for my girl to fully even comprehend how my family is, then worry about the why. Love my family but that really is a weird hurdle to have to jump with people; to say the least.

As for knowing iunno to this day it still takes me aback sometimes, when you have that moment that from the first second seeing them there's like that "Internal arrow pointing the direction in which you should go" and out the gate it was always on her. I stayed tryna get her to talk me for months, then almost 6 months later we do and she says its the same thing - from first exchanged words she knew I was something else as well. It really is crazy, you can't deny when everything in you screams that shit. Literally had a night after an accident (before "becoming a couple officially") where I spoke to an ex all night instead of her and I just remember laying there in bed in the middle of the night; staring at my ceiling, and my ex's voice started to sound like the adults in Charlie Brown and the voice in my head was "She ain't Brittany, you know you should be talking to her rn. Who called you first when you got in that accident? Don't blow this," that was when i knew what i needed to be doing and with who for sure.

 

I might be naive, but I love stories like this (minus the accident part of course). I'd love to have something similar.

 

Ah thank you. We had some detours along the way (were apart for a few years at one point) but it was still one of those "They're always on your mind, in your heart, and you're always going back to think about them" then when we got back together again it was like we never left just had to update for the more grown up versions of ourselves.
Really does come off as one of those "This was written for us" things sometimes, we can't explain how everything goes either. lol

Going on a 7 mile run with pretty much the most beautiful woman I've ever met next Saturday, AND she asked me to brunch with her after. I'm beyond stoked

Older brother got engaged. His fiancé is Mormon and an OBGYN so she's his sugar momma lol. She's nice though. We're not a particularly religious family so it'll be interesting putting the two together. She saved herself for marriage which I was kinda shocked to hear, not very common these days but whatever suits ya

 

I guess that was a good motivator for my brother to get the ball rolling though haha. He has a daughter from a past relationship but promised to try and have another so that'll be interesting

 

My cousin just got engaged to a Mormon and is getting married in July. I hear you on the interesting part, our family isn't really religious either. I think my aunt is kinda bummed that it's her first kid getting married and she doesn't even get to see the ceremony.

 

Looks like my parents are probably getting divorced now, which has also been a long time coming. But man, this year keeps getting weirder.

 

my girlfriend makes me so incredibly happy. the best part of my day is when she gets home from class/work and we just sit and snuggle on the couch and talk. nothing makes me happier. nothing ever will.

So I've made my decision, I will break up with my girlfriend later this week. We haven't seen each other in more than one week, and each time we try to talk, she ends up being mad at me for nothing. There isn't any other issue. I don't deserve to be treated like that any longer and I just want to be happy again.

 

From what you've said, you seem to be in the exact same boat I was in a couple years ago. You're making the right choice. It'll be tough but you're gonna be so much happier dude. I still love my ex platonically, she's like family to me, but OH MY GOD we were not meant to be in a romantic relationship

 

Thanks, and yep that's pretty much how I feel. We'll be way better as friends, if she still wants to be in touch with me.

 

We're hitting a cheap ass Chinese Buffet and fucking all night lol. Her 21st birthday is in a few weeks so we're going all out for that instead
