Currently irritable, and moreso when people tell me they've ghosted (y'all know I feel about that lmao).

 

I've never ghosted, just become less responsive. There was one girl who texted me while I was having phone trouble and I kinda never got around to responding but it wasn't intentional

 

Ghosting is the absolute worst.

 

I suppose it depends what you mean by ghosted. If a first date doesn't leave me wanting more, I tend to not say anything further. However, on the odd occasion that the woman in question messages me, I do then explain myself. I don't know if that's ghosting? Semi-ghosting? Poltergeisting?

I think it's hard to know what the "right" thing to do is that won't hurt people's feelings, like people have said we should totally hang out sometime and I'd be all sure because I was too afraid to say no thanks drinking/partying isn't really my thing which is kinda similar I guess

 

At least for me, it's if someone initiates a conversation and you ignore them on purpose. It's not really ignoring if there isn't something to actually ignore in the first place.

I much prefer people to just shut me down than do that. One of my real pet peeves is chatting to someone on Tinder, it going okay, asking them if they want to meet up some time and rather than just saying "no thank you", they then lead me on a merry dance instead. I mean, I'm sure plenty of people act like absolute cocks when they get rejected at that stage, but still, what are they really going to do? Text you some more? Oh dear god no!

 

I technically ghosted someone once. But I didn't feel safe confronting him and he owned like 30 guns, so I don't feel bad about that one.

I didn't ignore messages, in fairness. She invited me to something and I declined and we said we'd talk again after the weekend and neither of us did.

Still consider it ghosting because the thing I declined was meeting her parents and I was usually the one to initiate conversation with her. Tracked her down before graduation and apologized sincerely for something she clearly hadn't thought about in 3 years.

Still bugs me 11 years later

 

Oh well yeah that's different of course. If you're feeling really unsafe or uncomfortable, do what you have to.
