My last boyfriend brought up wanting an open relationship several times.... It's one of the things that ultimately caused our break up. I can understand I guess since he's only been with me and I had some time to be wild before I met him. And although I entertained the idea a few times, ultimately we both knew it wasn't what I wanted. I couldn't handle it. When I'm in a relationship I have virtually no desire for anyone else. I couldn't even think of hooking up with someone else, it would freak me out. So the thought of my SO hooking up with someone else would really put me off from them. I wouldn't feel the same.
I wish I could be all ~progressive and evolved~ and preach that monogamy sucks but yeah that's just not the way I'm wired.

 

I'm not jealous at all but I'm insecure like socially so I wouldn't want to branch out as much as it feels like it'd require. I'm so boring and vanilla I'm like not even vanilla enough for vanilla like vanilla extract probs. I'm fine with one person not cause I value monogamy but cause I'm a lazy hermit. So to sum up I'm insecure, boring and lazy! Got that trifecta

 

I actually never used to feel this way, I just know a few couples who live that type of life style and it does work for them, and I'd just been thinking about it for the past few months. I do feel like it could crash and burn really really quickly, especially if your partner develops feelings for one of his other partners that are more intense than the ones with you and you weren't primary partners anymore. Lots of things to get messy.

It's probably not something I'll ever try but I am fairly interested in the idea of it, but probably not how it would end up playing out.

It's also not just the sex aspect in my head, it's just kinda cool to get to experience a romantic side of different people, for variety (girls/guys) and experience reasons.

 

I can't hook up when I'm single so it doesn't really matter.
