Totally know how this feels. I have been through the exact thing. Twice. With the same girl.

When it happened the second time, I completely lost all interest in her and haven't looked back. I felt so relieved to finally move on. You will get there too, but it takes time.

 

The biggest favor a person can do for themselves in the age of social media is to immediately block an ex after the breakup. Obviously that ship has sailed for you, but it's not too late to do it now.

Facebook's block feature is phenomenal. You can block their new s/o too if you have any mutual friends, which will keep any mention of either of them from filtering through. Twitter is pretty good and Instagram is crap, but as long as you stay out of the "stuff your friends have liked" section you can avoid most of the unpleasantness.

Been meaning to... I can't help but watch the 2005 version because of those smoldering glances and the cinematography. :| I really need to branch out, though. I'm usually watching some Jane Austen-based movie... probably subconsciously ruining my expectations or something. Highly recommend Persuasion - it's a good one, quite underrated.

 

Yeah the girl I'm thinking of messaging, we went to high school together and had a couple classes together.
