yeah, that's true. That's definitely an oversimplification, but a failing relationship definitely does not add to one's happiness or benefit their mental health. Although, I think the quest for "happiness" is in and of itself oversimplified and kinda silly but yeah

I'm tutoring at this Boys & Girls club and I introduced myself to one of the fellow tutors, a girl, and I like literally could not talk to her. I wasn't even necessarily that attracted to her I was just trying to be friendly and all my words were failing lol. And then I finally asked her her named and she said Kimberly and I was like, "Kwim-ber..." and then I stumbled and gave up and was just like *ubiqitous sound for when your words fail and rather than fixing it you just fall into it*. The entire interaction was super robotic and I felt very unlike myself lol.

 

I'm like that all the time and it's awful. As soon as someone tells me their name I forget it instantly. It's rude but I just dread small talk so much and I'm so anxious that introductions suck so yeah I fumble them all the time. Not a good look. Sometimes it's been too long so I feel like I can't even ask and then I just hope to catch someone else saying their name someday

I downloaded a couple dating apps again..... Tinder and Bumble but decided to only use Bumble for now, dating terrifies me especially since I'm a dancer and it's always awkward to bring up and also to know when to bring it up because it's always a lose lose because if I tell them right away they're either going to totally have an idea in their head of who I am without getting to know me first or fantasize about my body and sexuality and assume I'm going to sleep with them right away which is not what I want and that's something that really bothers me in this present time. Then if I lie about my job and don't tell them right away and then come clean I'll be a liar so I'm not really sure how to approach it, when I date people I meet in person it usually isn't as hard because they have a chance to know me and ask me out but online is a whole other animal. I'll probably regret putting myself back out there but I've been single for two years and I just feel like I'll die alone at this point lol.
