Lol I dunno why but I just got a flashback to when my last relationship ended. Not my first rodeo, but it was the first time someone broke up with me and not the other way around. I legit spent like two months watching videos about how to get her back lmao. I even bought a fucking book on dating/relationship advice. I remember going no contact for a good while and getting in really good shape and stuff and working up the courage to ask her to grab some coffee. She agreed and when we met it was like the worst day ever. She told me she was leaving the country and also that I meant nothing to her. Not just romantically, like in general. To this day I dont even understand why she agreed to meet up. It was awful. I don’t think I had ever felt so small in my life . That shit fucked me up ngl.

It’s okay Mary! I’m juss thinkin bout it. In hindsight it was very foolish of me to get so seriously involved in that relationship. But ya know, when you’re in it it’s like you get tunnel vision and can’t really think clearly. Like all of my relationships that have ended, I look back on it and I’m very happy it did not work out. But I’ll be god damned if that wasn’t one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through.

me and the girl have just started sharing location on iOS. granted its because she is always flying around places with her job, so stops me for asking "so......where abouts in the world are you today?" it was hard to keep track of

 

I feel like dating someone who travels a lot would be ideal. At least for me.

 

before it was sporadic, in that she could be called for a trip at any point which made long term plans difficult. now she's on a 21 day on/21 day off rotation with one of the private airlines. sucks that she could be gone for 21 days at a time, but at least we know when she's home so we can make all the trips now

 

Totally get this. I guess the best thing is not to be so dependent on relationships and not make them the main focus of your life and keep your own life outside it. Then if the feelings are mutual, great, but if it doesn't work out it won't be the worst thing in the world

this has always been hard for me but it's something I'm better at now. in my first relationship my whole life revolved around my girlfriend and when we broke up I could barely eat for a week and just sulked for a couple months lol.
