Sorry, on a serious note, that's terrible and sucks for her. If that's what she wants to do, she should do it, move out there, and hope her family gets over it. Otherwise if she stays, she knows that her family are a bunch of pricks that she has to live with for the indefinite future and she misses out on doing what she loves. The risk of temporarily pissing off your family is probably worth the reward of fulfilling a dream.

I don't have any matches because I have yet to swipe positively on anyone because I don't like anyone hahahaha

So if the goal is to go on a couple dates and potentially meet somebody nice, do you think it's a waste of time (for either men or women)?

Is the group of people who are on it for that reason at a sort of disadvantage (for lack of a better term) because they have to be found in a huge pool of people who are just on the app to stroke their ego or say gross things to women?

I know realistically I can't know till I try or whatever, I'm just trying to get a sense of people's experience with it, particularly if their goal was actually to meet somebody and not necessarily to just look at pictures of people. Seems like I should be looking into ways that are less looks-based cause like there's a reason I don't take pictures haha

i am in northern minnesota for work currently, so many dead animals in photos on tinder.

 

I'm looking forward to cruising New York and San Diego tinder later next month. Should hopefully be better girls than the North of Scotland...

 

I will say as someone with Aspergers my perspective may be different than anyone else's but for me I just can't use it at all, meeting and conversing with someone has to be more natural or else I freeze up like no other, and I don't like swiping on people I don't have any kind of foundation with, if that makes sense. It's just not for me.

 

My biggest gripe with it is not really finding people I actually want to talk to.

 

Yeah, I have so any matches lined up, but no one really grabs my attention as someone I could have anything worthwhile with.

The girls that I match with that respond and I get to know are the girls I really just want to go on a date or hook up with and move on. The girls I want to get to know and are really interested in and have planned our whole future based on 4 photos and our mutual like in Brand New are the ones that never respond or stop responding before we can meet up. What I find annoying is that I'm only shy over social media/dating apps.

I have zero qualms about approaching a stranger in a bar or what not and I can happily talk away, but as soon as it comes to screen to screen talking, I completely loose it and have no idea what to say.

 

Get in that shower and recite the 7 tenets of our threads creed.

 

Showering with another person is so awkward you just stare at each other and there's never enough water so you're cold and idk I'm so nervous girls intimidate me more than guys for some reason
