don't have time to type a full response to some of the dismissive things that have been said but this is a good post

I roll my eyes at posts that are like "but men have problems too!" because it shows a lack of any basic understanding of gender dynamics in relationships

 

Exactly! Like all you have to say is "that sounds awful, I'm sorry you've had those experiences, I'm here for you if you need to talk" and then don't do those things that she just described to anyone and call out other people if you see it happen.

 

I definitely get this, but I get the impression that men aren't allowed to have any opinion whatsoever without being criticized.

 

It sucks but I think that's definitely the case. To put things back in balance Men have to shut up for a while. If society would have done us right the first time, we wouldn't need to have to relearn proper respect and manners for all things living. the younger generations have to take it upon themselves to auto-correct. But it isn't learning a new way to act and think, it's regaining the old way of thinking that died the minute cave men stopped worshiping cows and began using their strength and aggression to get who/what they want.

 

I just don't find it to be realistic for this drastic shift in the way men handle themselves. A large percentage of men are douchebags. Period. I don't know I guess I'm just pessimistic.

 

Just....don't talk over other people's experiences? We can discuss issues and problems men face with modern dating in society, but to pretend that men face the same kind of problems and issues in size and scope with regards to modern dating is ridiculous. It also isn't the right time to discuss those issues men face in a reply to a woman who talks about fear of stalking harassment and assault.

At first I thought this discussion was just going to be pretty straightforward and it'd be easy to understand why someone is getting informed on why their post might have been/was problematic. But it's getting awfully redpill in here

 

Did that happen in this thread? I've just looked back through the last few pages and this feels like both sides are trying to have a disagreement over something which hasn't happened. It's a very peculiar argument to follow.
