Not as extreme as a reason to keep living but a “feel good moment” of hearing from coworkers how much they appreciate you and them admitting that they lean on you too often for help but are always thankful for any assistance you can provide.

installed the SHIT out of this sweet ac unit in my new apt today. just in time for some 95 degree weather and i feel more like a real grownup now too

 

Fuck the 4th but days off of work are a reason to live, especially if you don't have plans and get a whole day to swim and/or watch movies

 

Not that I was ever a fan really, but not spending all day with a group of friends or family (or bouncing around to a bunch of those groups) on holidays is something that I will never get over. Even just sitting there eating and drinking and having small conversations with a few people gets exhausting and I no longer stand for it or pretend to do it lol. And it makes me wonder how many others feel the same but just go along with it so they don’t look “weird” or “difficult” but that shit should stop.

 

Yeah, I mean depending on your family/SO situation you can get stuck hitting like four places in a single day. I think last year was the first year we said fuck it, we'll see half of you on Thanksgiving and half at Christmas because even two places is a lot. And some minor holidays (like tomorrow) it's just not necessary to have something unless you want to see friends or something. My SO and I have absolutely nothing planned and I wouldn't have it any other way.
