Don't get me wrong I'm generally pretty outgoing even to strangers I just don't think I talk to THAT many

 

maybe you should try talking to strangers more often

it might enrich your life or you might get stabbed

 

Hell it may enrich my life by getting stabbed.

I would literally rather die than talk to a stranger haha, serious social anxiety and stranger danger

 

I have a lot of social anxiety that stems from strangers but talking to them usually alleviates it

in my experience most people are pretty cool in a one-on-one situation

any kindness big or small I can do that genuinely makes me feel like I had a positive impact on someone's life is at the very top of my list tho tbh

Same here. As soon as someone else takes initiative I’m good but I can’t start conversation with someone I don’t know, I’m always anxious of inconveniencing people

i’ve been consciously making an effort to be extra kind and courteous to drive-thru/restaurant workers I interact with, and it’s such a good feeling when you can hear the appreciation just in how they respond.

 

Right! Like yeah it’s one thing to be anxious in conversation with strangers, I get that. Wouldn’t hold that against anyone. But it really bums me out when people become actively upset because the person taking their coffee order asked how their day is going, haha. Like uhh that’s their work, you went to THEM lol, how are you gonna get mad when they speak to you

 

Same here. I got a growler today and tipped $10 because whatever, the beer is marked down and that’s what I’d pay anyway but the lady on the phone was so genuinely appreciative and it was so nice. Like you’re helping me out by being open so I can get beer, this is the absolute least I can do!

Edit: I realize this may come off as “hey look at me, I’m a good tipper!” but that’s not the intention at all
