A sludgy instrumental post-metal adaptation of Plato's The Republic:

 

Old Solar are re-working their first release Quiet Prayers, which was a rather short, very ambient affair in its initial form, and is now being given the full-band treatment. The first single was originally a little 2-and-a-half minute outro and has since been turned into this huge 7 minute long son of a bitch.

Love this band. Their last album was great, new single is great.

 

Nordic Giants - Symbiosis

Moody, atmospheric, piano- and synth-laden post-rock. They use the tag "cinematic" but I don't know quite how well it fits and also I hate that word.

Just got done listening and it's...something.

 

It definitely isn’t conventionally enjoyable haha. A very cool artifact and cultural touchstone though.

Second-wavey with prominent, orchestral-esque strings. Reminds me a lot of Industries of the Blind, who you should also listen to if you're not already familiar:

 

Industries of the Blind is a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Wow, that’s extremely nostalgic for me. That album is impeccable.
