the version first in the name is always the better seller im pretty sure. y might be more popular than x, or at least i know more people with y than x. im going with moon personally but i also preordered sun and will probably give it to my brother (like i did with y and omega ruby)

 

I tend to always go with the one closer to blue since blue was the first one I ever played, if that makes sense. Always end up getting both though

 

I think I want Sun but I'm still undecided.

Leaning heavily toward Moon, but I'll wait to see if there are any other version exclusives before it comes out.

Also, I've only pre-ordered games twice ever (X and OR)--can pre-orders sell out? I'm trying to move, so I don't want to pre-order the game and have to drive two hours just to pick it up if that happens.

 

I know they can but I don't see it happen often

The file sizes of Sun/Moon have been revealed, and they're gonna be ~3.2GB a piece. Which is significant. For comparison, XY/ORAS was only 1.7/1.8. This motherfucker is almost twice the size, which does lend a bit of credence to the speculation that we may be able to visit another region in the post-game.

 

Agree. Pretty stoked. Very few 3DS game ever reach 3GB. Tbh I think RE:R is the only other one and you can see it in the graphics.

With Pokemon, it HAS to be content. Maybe better sprites/sound.

 

Graphically it's a big step up and definitely a contributing factor, but 3.2 is massive. Like, Smash Bros, which was so big it wouldn't even run smoothly on the original 3DS, is only like 2.1.

 

Been RNG-ing my legendaries to find the right nature. Not bothering to SR for IVs anymore.

Probably just going to grind that caps thing when sun/moon comes out.

Also on another note, I had a 5IV, Dusclops that was EV trained and decided to level it up. Holy crap its base HP is 40. Even with 130/130 defense I'm not sure it can even handle hits.

 

Low HP = better gain for Pain Split though. It's actually pretty good imo (although the Knock Off buff hurt it a lot).

 

Am I the only one that likes the fire type starter's line (with the yet to be confirmed leaked final) the most out of the three?

I was going to pick Litten originally, but after seeing it's evolution, I'm leaning towards Rowlet.

Man the Evolutions pre-release is in two weeks (tcg) and I'm gonna be at my sisters wedding the day of the pre-release. Welp. I want a booster box so badly of those cards.

 

What movelist would you recommend? Forgot about pain split.

 

the pre-releases for new sets are always on days i work and always like an hours drive from me. i am preordering a booster box though.
what cards are you most hoping to pull? full art trainers are always some of my faves so im really hoping for both brock's and misty's. obviously the charizard and i kind of want the holo poliwrath.

Oh I def want Brock's Guts. So ready to have the holo Charizard and both EX cards. Also really intrigued by the utility of Raticate in this set.

 

Anyone else here planning to play competitive when Sun/Moon comes out?

Very excited.

 

Every time a new game comes out I say "maybe I'll play competitive this time!" But I don't have the time for that shit lol. I do appreciate that they keep making it easier to get into, like the IV manipulation in this gen.

 

I've never done competitive play before but I'm planning on stating when sun and moon are out for real

 

Every release they've been making it easier for non-cheaters to make competitive easier. Which is good.

- they made destiny knot to make 5IV 'mon easier to get
- horde battles for EV training
- the cafes for money/level farming

OR/AS
- secret bases to make levelling to 100 ridiculously easy
- wild pokemon with egg moves

S/M
- made a way to max out IV for existing 'mon
- who knows what else

Hoping they really make it extemely easy this time.
