Game Freak isn’t interested in actual remakes anymore. Wonder what that means for Gen 5

 

the new Pokemon TCG app is fun so far. Opening some booster packs while on lunch at work and the designs of some of the cards look really good on the iphone.

 

Help I played the TCG pocket game for 5 hours today

 

yeah Pocket is a lot of fun, it's a really cool simplified take on the standard TCG

 

Got a 5 IV Gengar from this Halloween event

 

There’s a typhoon here so no Gengar for me

Been having fun opening packs in pocket but the actual battling is very dull. Ive been doing the solo battles so I can open more packs but don't see myself ever playing against other people.

 

I’d definitely like to see more incentive to battle other people. There’s not even any daily missions for it or anything, just feels like a very slow way to grind xp right now.

 

Also, idk if I’m doing something wrong, but it seems impossible to use decks with more than one type. Like, I have a Dragonite deck I’m really trying to make work but it requires water and electric for his moves and it feels SO bad to just draw like 6 water energy in a row with nothing you can do about it.

TCG Pocket has caused me to forget about Pokémon Go. Opening Go today was a bit underwhelming.

 

I'm checking pocket a couple of times a day when I can open another pack but haven't gotten super deep into the battling

 

I did pvp battles until I reached the emblem for 45 wins. I’m done until a new challenge is announced. Just going to collect cards and continue doing the Lapras promo battles to try out decks.

 

Might be a dumb question, but what is TCG Pocket?

 

a new "freemium" phone app, opening virtual packs of cards and battling in the style of the trading card game

it's been fun, the first bit of playing it is menu/tutorial hell but doesn't take too long

 

sounds like something I’m both interested in and may potentially waste a lot of time playing
