I have a Flareon with a CP of 527 and a Pidgeot at 339, but other than that my Pokemon pale in comparison to what I've seen some others with. I will add that today was the first day I had the app and I have collected 29 Pokemon already, so I think I'm doing alright. Really eager to evolve my Charmander, Magikarp, Voltorb, and Drowzee.

 

I don't even want to think about the 100 magikarp I need to catch to get that gyrados.

 

correct me if I am wrong, but I think you only need 25. Each one you catch is 3 magikarp points, then tranferring to professor is 1 more, so 4 each

 

It says I need 400 candies to evolve mine...

 

I could rant and rave about this goddamn game all day. Even with its startup flaws it's phenomenal.

I've logged 25 kilometers in the last 4 days and I live a VERY sedimentary lifestyle, if that's any indicator of quality.

 

You need 101 magikarps, because 25 * 4 is 100, not 400 and you need 400 to evolve it into a Gyrados.

 

Went here last night and caught a massive haul. About 300ish people hanging around having a blast. Keen to head back there a bit later.

Just saw an 1109 Gyarados controlling a gym. Had to have been hatched right?

 

Can you hatch second stage?

 

It was probably caught due to very good fortune. On day 1 of Pokemon Go someone took over a gym with a Nidoqueen. A friend caught an Alakazam. Alec saw a wild Dragonite. If you can catch Nidoqueen Dragonite and Alakazam I'm sure you can catch Gyarados too.

FYI, apparently Eevee evolutions are determined by it's special attack:

Dig - Flareon
Swift - Vaporeon
Body Slam - Jolteon

Anyone know if they'll get other generations of pokemanz? I'd assume they would in the future, this version did just launch.

 

im hoping they fix all the broken parts of the game before they add anything else

 

anecdotal: turning the ar off obviously makes throwing easier due to lack of movement, but the trade-off seems to be they're more likely to break out of the ball

 

The gym stuff, at the least seems to be fixed. No problems with the servers this weekend for me either. We'll see how lunch time goes.
