Finally got my shiny Karp! So happy right now!

 

I’m so jealous. I’m not sure how much you guys fully comprehend. I don’t think I’ll be able to quit this game until I get a shiny Karp. It’s a pretty insane feeling.

caught a second shiny Swablu so i can keep one unevolved, this pleases my completionist tendencies greatly

 

Looks like trading is being implemented later this week! The catch being you need to be in the same room as whoever you’re trading with.

Also Friends system that gives better bonuses in raids together (attack bonus, more balls, etc.) the more your friendship level grows. Also you can get gifts from Pokestops that you send to friends and they can contain Alolan Pokemon eggs.

They are, but only one per day with your best friends, and they will cost a lot of stardust. Same thing with shinies or pokemon you don't have in your dex. They are special trades and you get only one special trade per day.

The trading thing is kind of bullshit with the whole stardust cost and friendship crap as well as the stats. I can see not doing online trading, but this is such a fucking whacky ass thing to do for a feature that should have been out a long time ago.

 

The IV re-roll is there to prevent spoofers or people with multiple accounts to trade with themselves and send all their best pokemon on their main account. I think it's actually a good thing in that sense, but it does suck for legit players who planned to trade good pokemon with one another but will end up with crap instead.

 

The trading restrictions are great. This game has too many cheats already, let alone if they made trading a free for all.

Disagree. Don't like the rerolls. Don't like the fact that it takes 90 days to become a best friend with someone just to lower the amount of Stardust it takes to trade certain Pokemon. The fact that one mechanic drastically alters the other like that is pretty stupid.

 

I would have thought this would have been out a while ago, but now I completely understand why now is the time to release it. With all of the events, raiding, research, etc. there are multiple ways to fill up your dex if you try hard enough, so now trading is more focused around filling in the holes in your team.

I mean, you can still fill up the Pokedex this way if you really want, but if they would have released before they started doing all of the community days and research tasks, people would have "completed" the game way too quickly and would have been bored with it.

 

It should have been released a long time ago. Don't excuse Niantic for shitty business practices.

I hate that trading requires stardust, but I'm glad we finally have trading.

 

I think the reroll is a great idea because I know people around here that just grinded using live maps and only caught high IV, powerful Pokémon and it just lessens the exploration aspect of the game. This makes it so that you can complete your Pokédex by trading but you can’t take advantage of it to create some all-powerful squad.

 

I've never cared about catching high IV pokemon so the reroll doesn't bother me at all.

 

Number one: I find it amusing that the time you decide to unblock me is the one time I post something negative in days.

Number two: I'm not being a dick to him, just Niantic. Forgive me for speaking my mind about how a company doesn't value people's money or time.

Number three: You can always block me again. I really don't mind.

 

That makes sense. I care about it for very specific Pokemon (i.e. my favorites)

 

I'm not excusing anything - just saying I probably would have quit playing during Gen 1 if I would have been able to trade my way to completing the Pokedex. There wasn't enough to the game back then to keep it sustained.
