This happened to me. I got Heracross but then the Kanto event started and never saw anything past Gen 1 for four days.

 

Dragons are coming out of rotation. Not sure what's next.

 

I probably need to try to get myself one more red dragon.

Also, I’m loving all these exeggutor everywhere. I’m getting so much stardust.

 

I hope they start to release the Regi trio now that Latios and Latias are going away.

 

I'll take anything at this point. I wasn't raiding, so I missed the Origin trio.

 

Raids are awful, it’s impossible to find anyone that still plays this game.

 

We have a big active player base over here so I love raids, but yeah when there's nobody playing around you it must suck to see that it's the only way to get some legendaries for a long time.

 

I’m having no luck with shinies right now. Been clicking on every kabuto and omanyte I see. Also about to run out of balls and I’m not near a ton of stops

 

I haven't encountered a single shiny Omanyte, Kabuto, or Aerodactyl. Any word on when we'll get the Regi trio?

 

The dragons rotate out on the 6th or 8th I believe, so I'd assume then.

 

Alolan Exeggutor should still be in the game after that, right?

 

For those who don't raid, if you find the Make an Excellent throw quest, it gives an Absol.

Edit: also, it looks like the Alolan exeggutor event may have already ended. I haven’t seen one today.

 

So I haven't really played this game since launch and back then it was pretty meh. How do shinies work? Is the game more fun now? Is there more to do?

 

During Community Day events (the next one is Larvitar this month) shinies for the selected Pokémon are easier to come across. I usually manage around 3 or 4 shinies out of 35 - 40 encounters. Besides that, shinies have a very low encounter rate. I've only come across one shiny in the wild that wasn't part of an event and it was a gold Magikarp.

 

Just started playing again and I saw that the fossil event thing ends soon. Does that mean they'll stop appearing or just appearing less often?

Ive caught Zapdos and Articuno in the same amount of time it’s taken me to get 2 ghosts. 8 more may take a decade.

 

Now that I have the birds, I just want them to rotate the event to dogs already. lol

 

Finally got my Mew.

 

Am I the only one who's not convinced they will rotate straight to the dogs? It doesn't seem worthwhile to do another Fire-type / Electric-type / Water-type rotation immediately after the last one. I suppose the research could be different types but that seems a bit of a waste.

(I'm also wondering why they skipped Ice-types when it makes no sense to do so - so am wondering if they're saving that for the Regis)

 

I think there was a sort of ice event in the winter? I'm not sure. I just remember catching a thousand Swinub.

 

There was, but my point was we haven't had Ice-type field research - Articuno's field research is based around Water-types.
