I'm still playing. It's just not as busy in my area and people have pulled back on doing so many raids as before. I think come Mewtwo we'll have people back out and playing more. How could you not want Mewtwo?

I have essentially stopped buying incubators as well as traveling far to find good Pokemon. Depending on my lunch breaks though or if i'm running through town i'll take over gyms and what not.

 

I play daily. Just don't really do any extreme stuff unless durin an event.

 

I haven't played since I completed my dex, but I'll pick it back up when Mewtwo arrives and then probably get suckered into Gen 3

 

When does gen 3 get released?

 

I still play most days. I take a walk during lunch and it gives me something to do. Still slowly making progress.

they've started loading the info in the game's back end, but nothing announced. I think it was a month or two after Gen 2 was loaded in the back end that it went live, I forget exactly

 

As much as I love gen 3 I wish they would wait longer to release it. Feels like gen 2 has barely been out haha

 

I think the problem is that there are a lot of people like me who collected them all and aren't playing, from their standpoint they kinda have to release it soon

 

Yeah when they released Gen 2 a shitload of people started playing again so I totally get it

I think we will see it before the end of the year but I think we will see Mewtwo first, and that will be a big event. I think by early to mid september we will see the Mewtwo release and i think that will hold them out until a possible Halloween event, unless they choose to move forward with gen 3 end of october/early november. We got gen 2 6 months after launch, so it would seem reasonable to expect gen 3 around this time, but we have gotten so much more between gen 2 and 3 than we did between gen 1 and 2.

they're making SO much money off these raid events, theyre gonna milk that for a while. releasing gen 3 would mean more people playing but enough people are playing now as it is. besides buying pokeballs, releasing gen 3 also doesnt give people any needs to spend money on the game either. just go out and catch stuff.

 

i also think they'd want to at least give people the opportunity to complete gen 1 entirely before relasing anything more, which would mean additional events to give ppl the opportuntiy to catch regionals like mr. mime, kangaskhan, etc.

 

Super curious how Mew will come into this world

 

I read (not sure how accurate) that because of Mew's origin in the show/movies/etc., Niantic said he's not a natural fighter, and therefore won't be available to capture by fighting/raiding, as it's not Mew's nature to battle. So yeah pretty much everyone's guess as to how they'll release him is as good as any.

 

I kind of gave up too but not purposely. I just haven't had time. Although I am training for a half-marathon so I've racked up quite a few egg hatches but nothing worth while. It kind of got depressing opening up my app and realizing I hadn't actually caught or hatched anything I've needed in months and months.

I was at least determined to burn through the eggs until I finally got my Aerodactyl or Hitmonchan, but once the legendary raids came out and I couldn't get the birds from Gen 1, I figured what's the point lol

 

Got everything but Tyrogue and Scizor still elude me!

 

i JUST hatched a tyrogue yesterday from a 5K egg haha, Scizor cannot be caught to my knowledge, you can only get it by evolving. I am very low on Scyther candies haha

 

Just hatched my first Tyrogue ever the other day as well.

 

Been walking my Tyrogue since I hatched it months ago, still only have 35 candies. Still don't have Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, or Hitmonchan and I've been playing since the start.

 

They should just give me Mew seeing how as I'll never get any legendaries. Lol. I haven't opened this app in weeks but I think that has to do more with being so tired all the time now more than anything else

 

Just walk it till you have enough for three evolves. Then evolve that one and I bet you get some in eggs shortly afterwards. Happened to me.

 

I've still yet to get a tyrogue and its driving me crazy. I hate the hatching crap.

 

Yeah, it's a black hole of spending and walking. But, I did get a lot of Pokémon from walking eggs. Your eggs get better the more you hatch I feel.

 

I have everything aside from Tyrogue and Cleffa so essentially all I do is walk around with no luck. Luckily my apartment is a gym so it's one thing on my side.

 

I hatched sooo many Pinsirs and Scythers back when they were in 10ks and now that they've moved down, I'm still hatching them. I've seen 41 Pinsirs and 34 Scythers, but I haven't wanted them in over a year. haha.
