They have to look out for people though. Having kids running through the streets at night trying to catch these things is something they shouldn't have to worry about. In busy cities, it can be a real problem.

 

I get that, totally, just wish they had extended hours maybe on one day, maybe friday or saturday keep them open until 8-9pm.

 

It also has a 100% catch rate. As long as you hit it with the ball you would catch it.

 

Say wuhhhhh. Is that only for the Japan event i'm guessing? Much like the Lugia/Chi town event.

I live in San Antonio, which is a major city. Doing raids is impossible for me! I don't have a Facebook and I don't really find any info online for people who are playing. So these raids have been useless to me.

 

yeah, and most people i end up raiding with i dont know and dont ever see again, so the notion of having to be "invited" to a raid by people that dont know me, seems silly and absurd.

 

this game honestly lost me with the raid concept, just not that practical for me. Haven't opened this up in a month :/

 

Haven't ever been closer to completing the dex, haven't ever had less interest in playing.

 

I only need Unown and a few regionals, so close for now

 

At first I didn't understand why everyone was so upset about the raiding system. I enjoy it, but seeing a lot more comments I'm starting to understand how the raid system has completely screwed a lot of rural players out of even having a chance to get the legendary birds. On top of you needing an average of around 10 people to do a legendary raid once you beat the raid you are not even remotely guaranteed to catch it. I'm lucky enough to live in a city with a fairly active raid group, but I can't even fathom what it must be like in other areas with no one else who plays and a gym or two in a whole town. Honestly, I get it now and I think there needs to be another way than just raids to obtain the legendary birds. I always liked the idea of a 50k egg or something.

 

If I was a rural player I would spoof til the sun went down.

 

I'm in a relatively rural place but we still see decent spawns. It makes it more challenging and still fun.


Few new things I like are the shiny Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu addition, as well as the new plans for the "mission" system. Gonna make it way more interesting to walk around.

 

I live in a city that's fairly small but still has tons of parks and a moderate downtown area. There are plenty of players and gyms, but it's still hardly big enough to do one of these raids after they've been available for a day or two. I tried a couple of Articuno raids the second day they were out and had 0 people show up. There's only enough hardcore players to get through a day or two, and then once those people get what they need, there's basically no more raid activity. Good luck trying them a second time if you didn't catch the Pokemon the first time. haha.

 

I've started playing Pocket Morty's instead of this game now - much more entertaining for me personally, and has zero bugs/frustrations and requires 10% of the battery power pokemon does. I only open the Pokemon app whenever I'm doing my usual walk at lunch to hatch eggs.

 

Yea, this game has kinda run its course for me. It was a fun year, though. Lots of good memories from playing. I doubt I'll do much with it going forward.

 

I mean, I understand the feelings everyone expressed. I'm not gonna NOT catch Mewtwo before I throw in the towel lol.

 

I still open the app every day to at the very least get my spin and pokemon for the day. Whenever I think I might be done they always announce some sort of event that pulls me back in. That is the one thing I will give them. However, I will say that if there wasn't an active raid group in my town I probably wouldn't be playing anymore. The raids are fun, I just don't like that this is the only way you can get the legendary birds.

 

Yeah I'm for sure going to try for MewTwo and Mew before I stop. But my phone's battery can't even handle walking to hatch eggs for more than 10 minutes at a time anymore so grinding to hatch this Togepi just isn't going to happen.

Signal is so bad around my area atm that I literally cannot play the game - no pokemon appear, every stop/gym I interact with is bringing back a 'network error' so I just cba tbh. Will try for Mew but I'm not bothered about Mewtwo nor all the other legendaries.

 

No Togepi.

 

Caught my first Moltres today and then caught a 100% IV Zapdos right after that! Only my second 100% IV Pokémon so I'm stoked!
