Yeah I like the new system, and I think it's easier to rack up coins if you're not an avid player but sometimes it can screw you over. Before I knew how it worked, I always put my best guy in the gym and then when he didn't come out for three days, I realized I didn't have him to battle with anymore yet I still only got 50 coins for it.

I've realized there's no real winning with this game though. Just the nature of it makes it pretty hard to balance. It's either too easy or too hard, Pokemon are either too rare or too common during events, gyms either favor avid players or casual players, etc.

 

I finally, finally, finally got my last item needed. Phew!

 

Nah this was my mistake I think - just looked back as far as my journal could go and several of my pokes came back with 50 coins over the past few weeks, so I guess I just wasn't paying attention to how many I'd gathered!

 

Got Moltres first try. It's shitty though.

 

Got my first Moltres and second Lugia this past hour. Both with good IV's, so I'm back to only needing Unown until Zapdos is released.

 

Any Lugia tricks? I'm 0/6 and only need Unown other than him

 

Both times I had to use golden raspberry's every throw, and land an excellent twice.

 

I spent 10 minutes taking down a gym today. The last pokemon was a damn Wooper and my game crashed. Loaded it back up and beat it. But then the stupid victory screen is like 15 seconds and my bus came so I had to get on without putting a pokemon in the gym. I come home now and see that gym has been held by my team for 10 hours..........

 

I have 239 Pokémon in the dex. Has anyone in the states caught an Unown? I still haven't seen one. Also what's the deal with Delibird and Smeargle?

 

I have 2 people in my Slack group that have gotten them. Both in NYC. Smeargle and Delibird have yet to be released.

 

Unown spawns almost daily in Knoxville. A ton of people in the Facebook group here have them. I am not so lucky.

 

Caught Moltres today!

 

My Caterpie just got me 41 coins in a gym. Swag.

 

My app has finally started allowing me to give my Pokemon berries at a gym not close by. About time.

 

Do any of you guys have weird "Seen" ratios between base forms and evolved forms? I have seen 22 Doduos and 15 Dodrios. I honestly see a Dodrio every time I'm at the grocery store.

Also have 12 Teddiursa and 7 Ursaring. Just strange because most evolved forms will be like 50 to 1.

 

Zapdos is live. I didn't get a Moltres.

 

The only raid I've been able to catch is one Bayleef lol whoops

 

I went 1/4 in Moltres, was very lucky to get it, it was seemingly impossibly to catch every other time I raided for one. Was with a guy who went 0/16, and proved it by showing me his dex lol. That's gotta hurt.

 

1/1. Tried to try again but no one was ever at the raids when I went after the first day.

 

So far with legendaries I'm at 4 Articuno, 2 Lugia, and 2 Moltres. Didn't think Lugia was gonna happen but I got lucky the last two days.

 

I haven't done a lot of raid battles. Tried to get Articuno with my girlfriend last week & we failed miserably. Got Quilava at another raid and we haven't been around for others. I'm doing awesome with the new gyms, though.

 

I'm never going to get a legendary. Only once did I see other people actually working together. I don't know anyone who actively plays nor can I find any info online about local players here. I haven't even seen a Lugia

 

Got my Zapdos on first raid, second ball. Yayyyy

 

Look online, on Silph Road reddit, maybe other places, for local gatherings. Some cities have strong facebook pages, I found Discord to be a really useful site, so you can find others with common goals of raids
