I already kinda felt like trying to fill the Pokedex was a lost cause for me, but this tracker makes it impossible :( No more catches at my house. I can't actually see anything that's near me! There could be a Dragonite right outside and I would never know.

 

Oh wow, I just realized I'm getting 4x XP with my Lucky Egg.

 

Caught a ditto on my toilet. It was disguised as a Chansey though

So what happens when you find a Ditto? Does it initially reveal itself or do you have to catch it?

oof, i lost count after so many. probably around 30 or so, finally got it after catching a rattata!

it's a normal catch but the screen eventually turns purple and ditto reveals itself

 

I'm getting it tomorrow no matter what

Did you accept the Pokémon first and then the screen happened? I'm afraid I'll transfer one accidentally :(

 

you don't have to worry about that haha. there's an "oh" when you catch it as if you were hatching and egg and then the screen turns purple

 

I'm already downloading the app again as we speak lol. I had a mini breakdown & deleted all apps/social media from my phone
But if Ditto is in at least I have a good chance of getting another pokedex entry! Has anyone from the UK on SilphRoad said they've caught one do we know?

Caught one this morning, probably tried to catch 3 or 4 before it happened.

 

With the new tracker finally live, I will be redownloading this and playing for the first time in two months. I just couldn't justify keeping it on my measly 16 GB storage to never be played.

Still no new tracker for me. Nevermind.

I ran out of Pokeballs trying to catch Pidgeys and Rattatas. First time I've said that since July I think.

 

I wonder if Ditto is a predetermined spawn or if any common you catch has say a 5% chance to be ditto. Also wonder if it's only available for the duration of this event.

 

Mine was a Rattata as well, which seems to be the most common from what I've seen, but I also saw reports of Pidgey and Spearow

 

It was a good idea when you really think about it. They're trying to get people to double up on this XP event. The incentive is for everyone to start catching the common Pokemon again, so if the double XP didn't do it, the chance to get a Ditto definitely would (I fall into this category).

As far as how you get him, I haven't seen that anyone's discovered a pattern. Some people say they caught him after like four spawns, but I've yet to catch one after about 15 spawns. You're probably right that it's just a low percentage of the 2k Pokemon that have a possibility. If I had to guess, I would say that they'll keep Ditto around, but he'll just be harder to get after the event. Who knows.

 

how long is the event again? sadly i'm at home where things are far less common, lol

 

I just got it from a rattata. Missed the animation though. Threw the pokball and then put it in my pocket and got off The bus. Three minutes later I looked and there was a picture of ditto.

 

They should have made an abundance of rare Pokemon spawn and then all turn into Ditto. So people all of a sudden see a bunch of Dragonites, Laprases, Aerodactyls, etc. only to find out they aren't really there. Would have been a memorable way to finally introduce Ditto, but I guess this is cool. haha.

 

2k away from another 10k... and heading to a huge Kabuto nest because I only have 9 candies. Lets see if the game trolls me again.

 

Got my Ditto after 26 tries.
